In partnership with our Newton Specialist Basement Contractor (NSBC) network, Newton is proud to operate our multi-award winning NSBC Membrane Recycling Service, the first and only scheme of its kind in the Structural Waterproofing Industry. The Service is a tailor made “back to base” membrane recycling facility, whereby Newton and their NSBCs actively recycle off-cuts of virgin and recycled HDPE from commercial and domestic construction sites throughout the UK.
Newton Waterproofing Systems provide full structural waterproofing solutions for both the refurbishment and new-build arenas to protect the entire structure from water ingress.
Newton provide waterproofing products for all three types of waterproofing as defined within BS 8102:2009:
- Type A (barrier) protection – Newton System 100 and Newton System 400
- Type B (structurally integral) protection – Newton System 300
- Type C (drained) protection – Newton System 500
Damp problems such as rising damp and penetrating damp lead to damp walls and can seriously damage your property. Even minimal damp penetration or rising damp will cause discolouration to surface plaster on walls, decorations and can even affect a building’s structural integrity. Newton Waterproofing offer a wide range of BBA approved damp proof membranes and ancillaries which are quick and clean to install and offer a permanent solution for damp proofing above ground walls.
Newton System 500 Internal Basement Waterproofing: For basement waterproofing (often referred to as tanking), Newton System 500 offers a proven, innovative and highly effective waterproof membrane solution.
Newton System 400 External Waterproofing Membranes: When placed to the retaining wall these membranes protect the primary waterproofing membrane from impact and water pressure, diverting water down to a perforated land drain for removal.
The waterproofing of podium decks and balconies is often an important requirement of a complete structural waterproofing solution. Due to the clients’ requirements to maximise the available space, we frequently find that the below ground structure will extend beyond the footprint of the above ground building. It is therefore essential that these areas and the detailing at ground floor level are completely impervious to water ingress.
The Newton PAC “Positive Air Curtain” 500 System is a combined basement waterproofing and ground gas mitigation system which successfully controls both water and gas levels within below ground/retaining structures.
Whether you need to control clear ground water, grey water, effluent or sewage, Newton supply a complete range of the highest specification pumps available for all your pumping requirements.
For treating damp or wet floors, we supply a full range of floor membranes. All our floor membranes can be used as a stand-alone product for dealing with a specific damp floor problem, or they can be used as part of a well-designed Newton System 500 waterproofing scheme.
Newtons supply two quality external drainage membranes for the reliable removal of ground water. Newton 406 Geodrain has a 6mm drainage layer and a vertical water flow of 1.27 litres per metre squared per second. Newton 410 Geodrain has a 10mm drainage layer and a vertical water flow of 4.60 litres per metre squared per second.
Newton System 300 products are used to waterproof joints and service penetrations to concrete elements, to provide Type B integrally waterproof retained structures that require no further waterproofing to be completely watertight.
Range highlights include 301 EasyProof metal waterbar which gives instant protection to construction joints and injectable waterbars that allow for post construction grouting and resin injection of leaking joints. Construction joints can be further waterproofed with Newton FlexProof, a very flexible polymer that is applied over the completed construction joint, either externally or internally.
The Newton Waterproofing App presents complete structural waterproofing and damp proofing solutions, including basement waterproofing and pumping systems, through the provision of product information, images, technical drawings, case studies, and videos.

As the first and only service of its kind in the waterproofing industry, the multi-award winning membrane recycling scheme is designed to reduce the amount of waste plastic sent to landfill from waterproofing projects. Run in collaboration with Newton Specialist Basement Contractors (NSBCs), off-cuts of HDPE waterproofing membrane are actively collected from site and recycled to become new products in the construction industry.
Completely closed-loop, the recycling collection bags are delivered to site by Newton delivery drivers along with the first product delivery and are collected from site on the back-load once filled with waste plastic membrane, therefore avoiding any extra carbon emissions.
A team of dedicated Newtonites are tasked with keeping the service running smoothly, including Warehouse Operative Nathan Conroy, and Recycling Officer Peter Watson (pictured above standing either side of Christopher Newton, Chairman at Newton Waterproofing). Both Nathan and Peter work hard to process all the waste membrane, ensuring it is chipped into small granules and packaged up ready to be collected by a national recycler for reprocessing and reusing.
Since the scheme launched in March 2017, Newton have successfully prevented 13.28 tonnes of plastic from going to landfill and 15.261 tonnes of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere. This also saves enough energy to make over 2 million mugs of tea!
"Construction waste is a big contributor to sustainability problems, particularly as the 'make, use and dispose' approach has often been favoured in the past.
Having an effective waste management policy that reduces, reuses and recycles can help combat the industry's waste and sustainability problems. And by collecting the waste HDPE on delivery back-loads, the service avoids creating additional carbon emissions too."

Newton Waterproofing partners with global waterproofing specialist RASCOR
Newton Waterproofing has exclusively partnered with RASCOR International to bring the Switzerland-based company's unique RASCOtank system to the UK.
Often referred to as the 'White Tank' engineered waterproofing system, the RASCOtank system ensures that the concrete acts as both the structure and the waterproofing.
The Newton RASCOtank System will provide a unique form of Type B structural waterproofing for any new concrete construction project occurring below-ground in the UK.
Newton and RASCOR's design team will work with the client, the structural engineer, the architect and the contractor from the outset of a project to achieve the required waterproofing strategy.
With this approach the Newton RASCOtank system provides the principal contractor and the client with savings on the financial and programming of the project and, as the system allows for unlimited pour sizes for the concrete floors and walls, maximum efficiency is also achieved.
A unique method allows Newton to control the locations of the inevitable cracks that occur in the concrete by use of the patented RASCOtec crack inducers. Deliberately placed at intervals within your concrete pour, the inducers allow for significantly bigger pour sizes, remove the need for the traditional chequer board method, and allow for unlimited concreting and any depth of floor or wall.
Ruben Schmid, Executive Director at RASCOR International said, "Newton are the perfect match to RASCOR. Each company has vast knowledge and experience, and is an expert in their respective areas of waterproofing. This new partnership means that Newton and RASCOR will be able to offer the best waterproofing solution in any combination on any project for our UK clients, and will put us into a leading position in the UK market."
The exclusive partnership with RASCOR, an international group with over 50 years of experience in the design, manufacture, installation and warranty of Type B waterproofing for concrete structures all over the world, marks the beginning of a powerful new chapter in concrete waterproofing for the family-run business, based in Tonbridge, Kent.
"RASCOR are pioneers in Type B waterproofing and we are absolutely delighted to be their exclusive partner providing the Newton RASCOtank system in the UK," commented Newton Waterproofing's MD Warren Muschialli.
"As the UK's oldest independent designers and suppliers of guaranteed waterproofing systems for all structures, with 170 years of industry experience and expertise, we are their perfect partner."
Newton Waterproofing supply an advanced range of waterproofing materials which allow them to design and install effective, robust and third-party accredited Type A, B and C waterproofing systems in accordance with current legislation and best practice.
