NEWTON WATERPROOFING SYSTEMS: Crystalline Waterproofing of Concrete Newton HydroCoat 104 Super - Crystalline Waterproofing of Concrete
HydroCoat 104 is applied to the surface of concrete to provide in-depth protection against the movement of moisture through the capillaries and hairline cracks within the concrete. It consists of Portland cement, specially treated quartz sand and a compound of active chemicals. HydroCoat / HydroTank 104 is supplied in powdered form and is either sprinkled onto fresh concrete or is mixed with water as a carrier and brush or spray applied as slurry for application to fully cured or older concrete or vertical surfaces. The active chemicals combine with the free lime and moisture present within the capillaries to form insoluble crystalline complexes which effectively block the capillaries and any minor shrinkage cracks to prevent any further movement of moisture to provide a totally dry surface to the concrete.Large areas can be quickly treated with HydroCoat 104. The speed of application and the low material application rate (1 kg/m²) makes this product a very low-cost option for various scenarios.Because HydroCoat / HydroTank 104 penetrates deep into the concrete, it does not leave a physical membrane to the surface of the concrete element and so is completely unaffected by loadings imposed by further elements of the build. New concrete elements are placed ‘concrete to concrete’ with no potential for slip or separation as is the case with physical membranes.Surface preparation is required, as is protection after application - consult manufacturer for details.Features and benefits:Single component.Ease of application – sprinkled onto new concrete and applied as a simple slurry to vertical and cured concrete.Permeates deep into the concrete to form a barrier against moisture that cannot be damaged or punctured.Loading capabilities only limited by the strength of the concrete. No physical membrane – subsequent concrete placement is ‘concrete to concrete’.Can be applied by airless spray for quicker application.Concrete treated with HydroCoat / HydroTank 104 remains vapour permeable, allowing the structure to breathe.Easy to detail and specify as the concrete surface becomes the membrane.HydroCoat / HydroTank 104 requires controlled curing. Once the HydroCoat / HydroTank 104 begins to cure, moisten with a fine fog spray of water 2–3 times a day for three days. In hot or windy conditions, water spray should be applied more frequently.Cost-effective alternative to conventional physical membranes.Curing:To be kept rain-free: For 3 hours (at all temperatures).Ready for temporary traffic/ protection boards: After 3 hours (at all temperatures).Initial set: At 5°C: After 6 hours; at 10°C: After 4 hours; at 15°C: After 2 hours; at 20°C: After 1 hour; at 25°C: After 45 minutes.Fully cured: After 28 days. NEWTON WATERPROOFING SYSTEMS: Drainage and Water-Retention Green Roof Membrane Newton 420 Reservoir - Extensive Green Roof Drainage Membrane
Unlike other products of this type, Newton 420 Reservoirhas a bonded geotextile that prevents intrusion of the soil into the water-holding cups during back-fill and compression. This results in a permanently larger volume reservoir than any other 20 mm deep green roof membrane. When the water holding cups are full, the large drainage holes within the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) core allow water to easily pass through to the drainage layer below to prevent saturation and water logging of the green roof above.Newton 420 Reservoir should continue over construction and movement joints and acts as a decoupling membrane preventing movement from the substrate transferring through to the surface finish. Consult manufacturer's literature for relevant surface preparation.Features and benefits:Exclusive bonded geotextile does not sag into the water holding cups as is the case with loose laid geotextiles.Large drainage holes allow a much higher drainage flow through the membrane than comparative products, ensuring that when the water holding cups are full, the water drains quickly so as not to waterlog the soil.Suspended soil particles (fines) are filtered out by the geotextile layer.Large drainage layer created by the 20 mm HDPE core.Tough and durable.Quick and easy to install. NEWTON WATERPROOFING SYSTEMS: Drainage Membrane Newton NewSeal 408 DeckDrain for Decks & Flat Roofs - Drainage Membrane for Decks & Flat Roofs
The double-cuspated design provides two layers of drainage; allowing for primary drainage through the geotextile filter, as well as secondary drainage between the underside of NewSeal 408 DeckDrain and the primary waterproofing layer. The lower drainage layer eliminates the risk of trapped water, a problem associated with conventional single cuspated deck drainage membranes.Features and benefits:Provides a clear and clean drainage path for surface water to roof drainage outlets.Double cuspated (drainage studs to the upper and lower surfaces) design provides a clear and clean drainage path above the deck waterproofing membrane, to ensure that water cannot be trapped above the deck membrane, as can be the case with single cuspated deck drainage membranesSuspended soil particles (fines) are filtered out by the geotextile layer.Quick and easy to install. High-density polyethylene (PE-HD) studded sheets

Newton 403 HydroBond® is a high performance, self-healing, composite sheet membrane, available in two variants, with Newton HydroBond-GB adding ground gas resistance (in compliance with BS 8485:2015) as well as the exceptional waterproofing capabilities of the standard membrane. When fitted above the raft support or to wall formwork, the membrane locking fleece is fully encapsulated into the newly placed concrete, becoming fully-engaged to prevent water tracking. If the waterproof LDPE layer is punctured, the exposed hydrophilic coating expands, preventing water ingress, effectively sealing small holes that may be accidentally formed during fixing of the reinforcing steel or the placing and compaction of the concrete. Newton 403 HydroBond provides a complete waterproof envelope to the structure to achieve Type A (barrier) waterproofing suitable for Grades 1, 2 and 3 as defined by BS 8102:2009, and is suitable for all below ground and earth-retained structures from domestic basements to the largest civil engineering projects. Both variants can be used as part of the HydroBond® System in conjunction with Newton 108 HydroBond-LM, which is sprayed to the exposed walls of the basement after the temporary formwork is removed. Where space is tight, Newton HydroBond 109-LM can be applied by roller or brush or small airless spray machine. Newton 403 HydroBond can be used alongside other Newton products to provide a co-ordinated and combined approach to the waterproofing of the whole structure that includes protection against water ingress to the deck, through construction joints, through and around service entries and to movement joints. Correctly protected, the Newton HydroBond System will provide, under normal service conditions, a durable waterproof barrier for the life of the building to which it is installed; the expected lifetime of the building itself should be at least 60 years. NEWTON WATERPROOFING SYSTEMS: Newton HydroTank 301-EP Metal Construction Joint Waterbar - Construction Joint Waterbar
Coated metal waterbar system used for sealing kickerless construction joints within retained concrete structures. It features an adhesive, reactive polymer coating on one of its sides which creates a permanent watertight seal that works immediately.Installation is quick and easy with the waterbar fitted in place to the reinforcement steel with special clips so that after the placement of the concrete, the waterbar is fully embedded within the two adjoining elements, completely blocking the passage of water through the joint.Because HydroTank 301-EP Metal Waterbar is not fixed to one of the concrete elements as is the case with conventional waterbars, the forming of a kicker is not necessary. Where the walls are formed above a kicker joint, use 315 Polymer Waterbar.Newton HydroTank 301-EP Metal Waterbar is certified to resist water pressure of up to 5 bar (50m), and is resistant to all types of naturally occurring ground water types.Features and benefits:Immediate protection against water pressure – does not need to swell to be effective as is the case with hydrophilic waterbars.Extremely high bond between the granular coating and the surrounding concrete ensuring that water cannot pass even where the concrete has slightly shrunk during curing. No kicker or rebate required, reducing site labour costs.100% waterproof up to 5 bar of water pressure.Preformed corner parts for quick site installation.More durable than conventional waterbars – not easily damaged or moved by the placing or compacting of concrete. Can be installed in any weather and at any temperature.
