CS Pedisystems Entrance Matting

CS Pedigrid
Designed for recessed installations, this 44mm deep system of removable grille sections allows water, dirt and snow to fall between the heel-proof treads into a matwell. It is ideal for new construction, where high footfalls are to be expected and available in a wide range of tread and colour options.
CS Pediluxe
An elegant, 17mm deep aluminium profile system with a load bearing capability in excess of 500kgs/wheel making it suitable for high volume areas such as shopping centres, hospitals and passenger termini. Pediluxe offers 80% surface absorption area, can be recess or surface mounted and is available in a wide range of tread and colour options.
A slimline and economical entrance matting system suitable for medium to high use areas such as busy offices, surgeries and schools. With its 11mm depth profile Pedimat Ultra will fit in a standard matwell, or can be surface mounted if preferred.
CS Pedimat
A perfect entrance matting solution for buildings in moderate use such as offices, shops, hotels and banks. 11mm deep, it can be recessed or surface mounted and is available in a wide range of tread, colour and rail finish options.
CS Gridline
An architectural stainless-steel grid, which will provide years of durable service while maintaining its great aesthetic look. In addition to standard Gridline, available in 11 or 17mm depths, the company offers 17mm deep CS Gridline Plus, which incorporates textile inserts within the stainless-steel grid.
CS Helix
An easy to install interlocking tile system available in two design options: Helix Z1 - a rubber/vinyl tile, which will scrape off dirt, mud and initial moisture and Helix Z2 – a tile incorporating carpet strips which will absorb dirt and moisture inside the building. Can be installed in a recess or surface mounted.
CS Tetras
Easy to install, CS Tetras Carpet Tiles are super-efficient at removing and holding moisture and dirt. Offering great durability and strength, CS Pedimat® Ultra entrance matting is delivering reliable performance at the stunning One Snowhill office building in Birmingham.
In the very heart of Birmingham’s Colmore Business District and north of the city centre, One Snowhill is a 12-storey, fully glazed and steel-framed office building built in 2009 and comprising 24,500m2 of sought after Grade A office space. As part of a refurbishment and redesign of its large and dramatic office reception set beneath a full-height atrium, the building owner Union Investment decided to replace the existing Pedimat® Ultra matting which had come to the end of its lifespan. The developer was happy to specify the tried and tested system again due to its aesthetics, ease of cleaning and maintenance, and high dirt and moisture removal performance.
To prevent the interior floor surfaces from becoming wet and slippery and to reduce the cleaning and maintenance costs throughout the building, two 6-metre wide Pedimat® Ultra entrance mats are spanning main entrance areas of the building. The system comprises 11mm deep, mill-finished aluminium rails, hinged with vinyl splines and is available in a choice of tread options to meet the project’s aesthetic and performance requirements. At One Snowhill, closed vinyl spline was used for increased dirt containment and ease of in-situ cleaning. In the revolving door sections, Platinum coloured exterior grade carpet inserts effectively remove dirt and moisture, while Wrought Iron coloured interior grade carpet inserts were chosen for the rest of the matting area to finish off the cleaning and drying process.

With its 11mm slim depth profile, as well as fitting in a standard matwell, it can also easily fit alongside floor tiles and carpets to produce a flush floor finish.

The National Gallery in London is renowned across the globe for its collection of artworks and is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the UK with 15,500 visitors every day. With such a high footfall, entrance matting has a significant role to play in reducing slip hazards whilst enhancing aesthetics and helping to keep maintenance costs in check. As part of the refurbishment of the entrance ways at the Portico Entrance, the Pigott Education Entrance and the Getty Entrance, the gallery’s facility managers decided to replace the existing Pedimat® matting which had come to the end of its lifespan. Having previously specified entrance matting from CS, the gallery was happy to use the tried-and-tested system again due to its aesthetics, ease of cleaning and maintenance, and high dirt and moisture removal performance.
Seven Pedimat® entrance mats totalling over 37m2 were installed in these main entrance areas. The system comprises 11mm deep clear anodised aluminium rails, hinged with vinyl splines and is available in a choice of tread and colour options to meet the project’s aesthetic and performance requirements. For the project, interior grade carpet inserts in a mid-grey colour were selected to complement the surrounding floor finish.
In addition, Tetras® Clean-off Carpet Tiles in Obsidian were specified for the East Wing Café entrance to ensure effective dirt and moisture removal. Measuring 500 x 500mm and 10mm in thickness, these heavy contract carpet tiles are very hard wearing, absorbent and easy to clean.
The installation of CS Pedisystems products will ensure a safer interior and reduced cleaning costs throughout this high footfall tourist attraction.
