Fall Protection Systems & Fall Arrest Systems
Safesite is one of the few companies able to offer a complete range of solutions from a single source. We both manufacture, install and certify fall protection systems including edge protection guardrails, life lines, mobile man anchors, rooftop safety and anchorage systems.
Supply Only Products
Safesite also offers a range of supply only safety products at extremely competitive prices including KeeGuard® and System 2000 edge protection guardrail systems.
Supply Only customers have the added benefit of support and assistance from our experienced technical department. Where relevant, site specific layout drawings are provided free of charge along with a complete O&M manual covering the assembly, installation and recertification requirements of our products.
Maintenance & Recertification
Once equipment has been installed it must be maintained and examined at least once a year as outlined in BS 7883:1997 and BS EN 365:1993.
Safesite’s recertification service ensures our qualified engineers not only assess roof safety equipment such as life line systems and guardrails, but will also inspect and certify all PPE used in conjunction with this equipment, including lanyards and harnesses.
We can also carry out individual training helping to ensure that everyone using the safety equipment is correctly trained for its usage and how to check equipment such as PPE for any sign of fault before using it.
Training & CPD
Safesite provides on-site height safety product and system training in addition to a range of RIBA and IOSH accredited health & safety training courses. These are run by experienced trainers and include Work at Height, Ladder Safety and Rescue. We also run both online and office based RIBA approved CPDs.
Safesite is continually vetted and monitored by the following bodies: Work at Height Safety Association (WAHSA), British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF), BSIF Height Safety Group (HSG), SafeContractor, Constructionline, Contractor Plus, CHAS, Achilles UVDB and the Construction Health & Safety Group
SAFESITE SECURES JONESCO PLASTICS ROOF
SAFESITE SECURES JONESCO PLASTICS ROOF
Safesite, a supplier of fall protection solutions, has provided Jonesco (Preston) Ltd with a collective fall protection system that ensures maintenance teams accessing the rooftop are separated from hazards and all potential fall risks.
Jonesco (Preston) Ltd is a family-run manufacturing company with decades of experience providing reliable and durable rotational moulded solutions to over 60 countries worldwide. The main roof on the Preston HQ is a corrugated sheet roof that featured exposed skylights. Wanting to establish their working at height requirements in order to protect the maintenance team and outside contractors when working on the roof, Jonesco (Preston) Ltd contacted Safesite to conduct a site visit and survey.
Following the visit, Safesite proposed a protection system comprising of Kee Cover®, KeeGuard® Topfix and a KeeLine® system, to be installed on every roof apex, allowing for the easy removal and cleaning of roof fans. Included in the scheme was a riveted KDH3 around the roof access hatch, safe systems training and personal protection equipment (PPE) for use with the KeeLine system when lifting fans out for replacement.
"We can now rest assured that there is a safe and secure roof for maintenance to be carried out" comments Rob Mayor, QHSE Manager at Jonesco (Preston) Ltd. "Whether it be our own staff or outside contractors, they are now able to avoid any potential risks when working on the roof area "We wouldn't hesitate to work with Safesite again after experiencing first-hand their great service and products."
The KeeLine® horizontal lifeline system provides continual, handsfree protection for up to three users when used as a fall arrest system. The system is designed so that the traveller which connects the user to the systems simply glides over the system's brackets, overcoming the need to detach from the system. KeeLine also incorporates PAS (Progressive Absorbing System). If the user falls, the shock absorbers, intermediate brackets and support posts will deploy and deform so that the loadings applied to the building's structure is below 10Kn.
KeeGuard® Topfix comprises a base plate with multiple fixing centres which is fixed directly on to the profile sheeting by either rivets or non-penetrative two-part clamps and butyl sealing strip to maintain the roof's integrity. This unique plate design allows the system to be fitted to a wide range of profile sheet centres and provides a support for the vertical standard leg which can be adjusted from 0° to 11°. The horizontal rails are simply fitted to the open saddle fittings to provide a collective fall protection solution. It has been tested to EN 13374: Temporary Edge Protection Systems - Product Specification Test Methods and has been awarded a Class A Pass.
The Kee Cover® range of roof light protection provides an effective solution for protecting roof lights and skylights without blocking the light into the building. Kee Cover® is available in two formats, one where the cover is virtually flat to the roof surface, and one which is mounted on small legs so that it is raised above the roof light or skylight. This provides a greater distance between the mesh panel and the roof light so that the roof light is not damaged in the event of a fall.
SAFESITE HELPS TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT
Safesite Limited has installed a number of horizontal lifeline safety systems for the Environment Agency to allow essential maintenance and recordings of river levels around London and the South East of England.
Rubbish and debris from the river need to be cleared regularly so that the water’s flow is not impaired, and the weirs kept clear to allow accurate recordings of river levels and flows to be taken. However, in order to clear this waste from the trash screens and weirs, workers need to work away from the river banks which lead to the Environment Agency contacting Safesite to provide a safe means of maintenance access at a number of locations.
Safesite’s KeeLine protection systems provide the workers with a safe working position, allowing them to maintain the waterway and ensure that it is kept as clean as possible. Designed as a continual ‘handsfree’ system, the horizontal lifeline allows the workers to clear the debris and take river readings without having to detach themselves from the fall protection system, so guaranteeing safety at all times. A further benefit is that KeeLine can be used by up to three people when used in fall arrest, which allows the Environment Agency to have two workers using the system at the same time when required.
The Environment Agency was looking not only for a local supplier, but also one that could provide both customer and full technical support, which Safesite was able to fulfill. The installation of the KeeLine horizontal lifeline systems allow operatives to work unhindered and in complete safety across the fast flowing water to keep the rivers flowing freely and overcoming the potential for localised flooding.
KeeLine is designed to provide safe access by allowing workers to be permanently attached to the line at all times and to move freely around an area. The system is designed so that the traveller which connect the user to the systems simply glides over brackets which overcomes the need to detach from the lifeline. KeeLine is fully compliant to EN 795:212.
