Our brand new OMNIE TOUCH smart thermostat delivers precise zone control of underfloor heating circuits. The large full colour LCD capacitive touchscreen display and ultra-thin profile not only mean that the device looks great in any home, but also ensures the programme menu is simple to understand and easy to use. A remote sensor is also available to create a partner zone (such as en-suite) or measure the temperature from a different location to the touchscreen. Our new controls are very easy to setup and have identical electrical connections to industry standard thermostats making them a clear choice for underfloor heating applications. The OMNIE TOUCH is available from mid 2018.
An OMNIE radiant heating system can be installed in the wall or ceiling. The same principle that makes underfloor heating work can be applied to walls and ceilings. As long as there is sufficient heating area a room can be satisfactorily warmed with a ceiling or wall heating system giving the same comfortable radiant effect as underfloor heating.
An OMNIE ceiling cooling system will reduce the ceiling temperature by a few degrees, this reduces the radiant temperature within the room improving comfort conditions.. Omnie is able to provide a range of products and controls for ceiling and floor cooling systems that provide an alternative to air conditioning.

FLOATING FLOOR APPLICATION FOR TORFLOOR SYSTEM AT LIME HOUSE
A London based interior designer is fitting out a 60 foot canal barge as a permanent home to be moored at London’s Lime House Marina, bringing an unusual and interesting application for Omnie’s TorFloor underfloor heating system.
Nicholas Sheridan is carrying out much of the work on the Chloe Jean himself having bought the steel hulled vessel in June, following its original construction in 2011 to ferry passengers from Limehouse Marina to the Olympic Park during London’s Games. Seeking to make absolutely maximum use of the space available, Nicholas decided to employ an underfloor heating solution rather than conventional radiators, in distributing warmth from the boat’s diesel combi boiler.
He opted for Omnie’s TorFloor solution primarily because of its structural spanning capabilities and the system’s all round ease of installation.
Normally specified to span upper storey joists or battens fitted across a ground level slab, in this case TorFloor has been used to cover the timber sub-structure which the owner has created across the steel members within the hull.
Crucially the TorFloor panels combine the ability to provide high efficiency underfloor heating and a structural deck in one product, thus saving both time and money on installation, while avoiding the need for separate particleboard or other flooring. The overall depth of the TorFloor panel is 22mm, featuring ball routed channels with a unique pattern to accept 12mm diameter pipes.
Nicholas Sheridan comments: “I had previously designed the refit of a barge home for a client and noticed that the existing heating still left you with a cold draft below knee level. I installed a Kabola boiler on the Chloe Jean after I purchased her in June because it is the only diesel combi you can control thermostatically and chose TorFloor after extensive investigation, because it seemed the most appropriate on a boat. The plywood becomes the structural sub-floor and you don’t lose height. “
“In addition TorFloor does not require a wet cement screed, when it can be a problem to get a boat 100 per cent level to pour it and I was worried that vibration from the engine and movement might cause a screed to break up.
The intention is to lay porcelain tiles as the covering throughout for heat conduction and with the plumber commissioning the central heating today, I am expecting to complete all the work early in the New Year.”
The layout drawings which Omnie provided for Nicholas Sheridan and his plumber divides the Chloe Jean into four zones with pipe runs of 240m, 120m, 80m and 50m length, connected to a single four-port manifold, to serve the living area, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.
Mr. Sheridan, whose interior design business sees him working on residential and hospitality sector projects all over the UK, intends to keep the Chloe Jean at Limehouse Marina and sail her on the Thames when the tides are right.

Devon development shows benefits of Omnie Underfloor Heating
A high quality residential development, being undertaken in one of Devon’s most sought after locations, is making extensive use of underfloor heating systems from the well proven and very versatile OMNIE range.
The four properties at Clearwater Court in Clyst St. Mary – two of them conversions of a former industrial building and two new-builds - are nearing completion by Vision Developments (SW) Ltd., creating spacious and energy efficient homes with character. Within the converted paintworks, the modernised masonry construction offers both high standards of insulation and thermal mass while the space heating is being provided by high performance gas boilers distributed by two OMNIE solutions.
The boiler in each property is connected via two of OMNIE’s Axios manifolds located at ground floor and first floor level. Across the kitchen and other downstairs rooms, OMNIE’s Staple system has been installed over insulation before being covered by a screed. Then in the bedrooms and bathrooms, the specification switches to the LowBoard 15 panels installed over the particleboard flooring, with insulation between the timber joists.
OMNIE provided Vision Developments and the installer, Exeter based Radiate Heating and Plumbing, with detailed layout drawings showing the different pipe runs and manifold positions in relation to the room layouts. The design support included heat loss calculations and flow settings for the commissioning of the underfloor heating.
