Used in the construction of all types of building Celcon Blocks and H+H range of aircrete products are ideally suited to help meet the requirements of the current Building Regulations for the construction of both internal walls and inner leaf external wall as well as foundations, beam and block floors and external leaf walls that are rendered or tile-hung.

Excellent thermal resistance
Wherever it is used, Aircrete’s high level of thermal performance means U-value requirements are met more easily, reducing or even eliminating the need for additional insulation, so producing significant cost and energy savings.

Proven Strength
Aircrete’s light weight disguises its inherent strength. Most products have BBA approval and it is independently tested to exceed the compressive strength requirements for both general housing and high-rise buildings.

Lightweight
The cellular structure of the aircrete ensures a lightweight construction. During installation, most Celcon Blocks can be lifted with one hand thus providing significant productivity advantages.

Sound Insulation
The inherent sound insulating properties of Aircrete make it ideal for controlling noise transmission between adjoining rooms or properties - a significant factor governing residents’ quality of life.

Workability
Celcon Blocks are easily laid and can be cut, sawn, drilled and chased with normal woodworking tools.

Excellent Fire Resistance
Aircrete products have been independently certified and are classified non-combustible in accordance with the Building Regulations. They also achieve a Class O resistance to surface spread of flame in accordance with the Building Regulations.

Sulfate Resistance
Celcon Blocks have an excellent resistance to sulfate attack. Most products are approved for sulfate classes up to and including Class 4.

Proven Frost Resistance
The micro-cellular structure of Aircrete gives the material remarkable protection against the effects of frost. Freeze/thaw tests have confirmed that there is no reduction in strength under such conditions.

Prevents Damp Penetration
Aircrete’s millions of tiny air pockets are not interconnected, which means the passage of water is severely resisted, so avoiding mould growth or damage to internal finishes. This makes Aircrete walls ideal for clear cavity construction.

Aircrete products are manufactured under quality management systems certified in accordance with ISO 14001 compliant. They are approved by the British Board of Agrément and comply with all relevant British Standards and Codes of Practice.

In November 2009 H+H became the first company to achieve “very good” in the BES 6001:2008 Standard for the Responsible Sourcing of construction Products.

This means that all of its products from all manufacturing sites have gone through the exacting processes required to obtain this prestigious certification. The benefit to aircrete users is that this certification translates into the maximum 3 credits available on the Code for Sustainable Homes, which is the same available to a timber frame construction with an FSC certification scheme.
