Ventilation systems based on passive stack principles operate by utilizing the natural buoyancy of heated air to exhaust unwanted pollutants and bring in fresh air from the outside. This is achieved by positioning vertical ducts or shafts that connect the inside spaces to the outside, which allow for the stack effect to occur.
