Our broad range of passenger lifts means we can provide our customers with the right lift for their requirements.
We supply lifts for low to medium-rise buildings, as well as every size, type and style of passenger lift, fit for even the most iconic buildings right across the UK.
Each one of our passenger lifts can be supplied either individually or as part of a whole range of lift products across major developments, with a choice of simplex, duplex and triplex options and a choice of down collective lift control and others. Whichever lift you choose, we’ll help to make sure each one is suited to its travel, traffic and situation – with finishes to make them family.
Our wide range of inclined and vertical platform lifts are designed to improve accessibility for all people. From small electric platform lifts in the home, to platform lifts for disabled access in public or commercial buildings, we can help.
As a leading platform lift company, all our wheelchair platform lifts help you to comply with the Equality Act, Part M and meet the latest industry standards for manufacture and installation. We supply platform lifts in Scotland, England and Wales and all of our platform elevators are suitable as external or internal platform lifts.
Plus, every Stannah supplied lift is supported with our nationwide lift services covering the whole of the UK, so you can rely on our engineers for ongoing support no matter where you are.

Stannah celebrates 200 years of UK railways with Network Rail
As proud suppliers to Network Rail, Stannah is delighted to celebrate with them as the rail industry marks 200 years of rail travel. Following the opening of the Stockton and Darlington Railway in 1825, the world’s first public steam railway, the UK railway network grew exponentially opening up travel possibilities for millions. Two hundred years later, over 1.6 billion journeys are made each year on Network Rail and Stannah is pleased to maintain over 1800 lifts and escalators at stations throughout the country, keeping customers moving quickly and conveniently to and from their trains.
Stannah’s links to the rail industry go back to the times of founder Joseph Stannah in the Victorian Industrial Revolution. An outstanding engineer with a passion for improvement of both engineering solutions and society, Joseph submitted a number of patents for locomotive parts to improve both safety and efficiency.
Today, Stannah specialises in lifts and escalators and has a long-standing relationship with Network Rail. As Network Rail’s chosen supplier of lift and escalator services, Stannah is a key enabler in the organisation’s drive to create step free access across its 554 stations.
“Stannah's work for Network Rail aligns perfectly with the values of inclusion and safety that underpin the railway sector,” said Archie Hungwe, Chief Operating Officer at Stannah. “Our collaborative efforts with Network Rail to improve lift equipment performance are testament to our commitment to enhancing the travel experience for all passengers, whatever their mobility needs.”
As the UK's railway system evolves, Stannah is continually innovating its business processes to meet the demands of the Network Rail contract and provide optimal performance of the lift equipment. The company’s lift solutions are engineered for reliability, efficiency, and user-friendliness, critical factors in ensuring that passengers can efficiently transition through busy stations. Stannah shares a vision with Network Rail to not only keep railway passengers moving but to make station and platform access convenient for everyone.
"Celebrating 200 years of railway history is a momentous occasion for the rail industry," added Archie. "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Network Rail to build on that legacy every day and take the UK rail industry into a new era where we can ensure freedom of movement for all."
Stannah is a leading provider of lifting solutions, specialising in the supply, installation, and maintenance of lifts, homelifts and stairlifts. With a history of excellence spanning over 150 years, Stannah is dedicated to innovation, safety, and improving accessibility in buildings and public spaces.

Stannah’s North & North East England branch plays a key role in this new partnership, serving as a crucial link between the local community and the company’s nationwide expertise.
Located in Gateshead, the branch is part of Stannah’s network of 11 service branches, ensuring homes and businesses receive reliable lift services. Offering maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, modernisations and new lift installations, the branch’s experienced engineers maintain lift safety and reliability for the region.
Recognising the importance of STEM learning in shaping the next generation, Stannah is not only investing in the local community but is also addressing the pressing need for skilled professionals in engineering and technology fields.
The program at the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications, providing students with hands-on STEM experiences that will better prepare them for future careers. Craig Wrightson, the Gateshead Branch Manager, visited the museum and shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration:
"We’re delighted to be supporting the STEM program at the National Museum of the Royal Navy, Hartlepool. As a local lift company, we recognise how STEM education fosters a valuable skill set that's crucial for future engineers. Specifically, STEM programs cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and technical skills, which are essential for success in the engineering field. Our team has a wealth of experience to share with the next generation and help inspire them towards STEM-related careers.
"Through this partnership, Stannah reinforces its commitment to social responsibility and investment in the future workforce. At a time when technological advancement shapes nearly every industry, programs like these provide young minds with the inspiration and tools to pursue careers in engineering and innovation."
This sponsorship is made possible by the Joseph Stannah Foundation, which supports projects promoting engineering and related sciences as career pathways.
