FrameFit Fire Door Frame Gap Fillers

Fire doors are designed to protect lives by keeping fire and smoke from spreading through a building. While even the highest-rated fire door needs a slight gap to open and close, too large a gap will compromise the door’s design and effectiveness.

Framefit a unique retrofit product that reduces gaps in poorly fitted fire doors. Until now, if you have gaps of more than 4mm on either side or head between the door edge and door frame or more than 8mm between door bottom and floor, a new door costing between £600 to £1000 is the only way to make the door compliant with UK fire regulations. Framefit fire door gap filler makes the door frame fit the door by reducing the gaps to a compliant level. This will save spending hundreds, if not thousands of pounds while helping the environment because the existing fire door can be rejuvenated and not just thrown away.

Cable Passthrough System

The Fireplug Cable Passthrough System is a bespoke transit system for temporary cables, designed to maintain fire compartmentation and acoustic performance. Today as more complex buildings are being built to a higher specification the Fireplug Cable Passthrough System (CPT) has been individually designed and then tailored to suit particular aspects of the changing demands of today’s specifiers.

Intumescent Grills

Fireplug FPG Intumescent Grills are made to order so can be supplied in any size. Fireplug FP louvred face plates are made in 50mm increments ranging from 100mmx100mm and are nominally 30mm larger in both height and width than the FPG intumescent grill to allow for surface mounting. Standard colour is white other colours and stainless steel are available.

Cavity Barriers

Rainscreen and cladding systems are designed to provide an open cavity to give ventilation for moisture dissipation and repel rain penetration. However, in a fire situation, the chimney effect creates an opening through which fire could spread unabated. Complete Fire Protection Ltd’s range of ventilated cavity barriers will maintain the ventilation qualities in normal conditions but in the event of fire, the intumescent quickly expands to seal the cavity thus preventing the spread of fire.

Electrical Trunking Pads

Fireplug ETC Electrical Trunking Closers are made using Firefly 102 intumescent and are totally enclosed in aluminium foil. The aluminium foil acts as protection against mechanical and chemical damage. Each Fireplug ETC has an adhesive strip. Under the action of heat the intumescent in the Fireplug ETC expands sealing the trunking against the passage of hot gases and toxic fumes. The intumescent also absorbs the heat, this detracts from the passage of heat along the metal trunking. Fireplug ETC Electrical Trunking Closer has been tested by TRADA to British Standard 476 part 20, on 14th May 1993, test No. IT360. two hours insulation and integrity was achieved. Fireplug Pipe Closers

Fireplug FPC Pipe Closers are made using Firefly 101/102 and are designed to surface mount around the pipe penetration. They can be used on either solid walls/floors or partition type hollow walls/floors subject to adequate approved fixings being incorporated. The steel canister is 56mm deep and filled with intumescent.

Intumescent Strips

Fireplug Intumescent Strips are available white or brown, in standard 2100mm or 1050mm lengths and is supplied self adhesive.

Upgrading System For Timber Panelled Doors

Fireplug FUS is designed to upgrade, to fire door standard, new or existing timber panelled doors.  The system allows ornate and decorative doors to keep their original character and appearance, and in most cases, without taking them off their hinges.

Hinge & Lock Protectors

Under the action of heat, the Fireplug CFPM insulates the areas around the hinges and lock slowing the passage of heat through the metal. This principal is also relevant when installed with other ironmongery such as, lock striker plate, door closers and pivot plates on double swing doors. Fireplug CFPM has been tested by TRADA to British Standard BS476 part 22, on 20th April 1993. test No. FR1687, also by Chiltern International Fire on 19th March 1997 to BS476 Part 22, Test no. FER/F97023. The test criteria attained results in Fireplug CFPM being acceptable for 30/30 and 1 hour doors.

Multiwraps

Multiwraps have been extensively used by the London Underground and abroad during refurbishment of existing bitumen and cloth joints located on the tunnel walls. A lightweight glass fibre cloth is laminated to a .5mm thick graphite intumescent membrane. The glass fibre cloth gives the Multiwrap tensile strength allowing the intumescent membrane expand around the joint to stifle the affect of heat in a fire.
