Suppliers of: Concrete Lintels, Concrete Beam Block Flooring, Concrete Fence Posts, Concrete Reinforced Grass Paving

Supreme is the UK’s leading manufacturer of high quality concrete fencing, building and prestressed lintels and beams. Innovatively designed, precision manufactured and backed by unrivalled service, together with a wealth of experience in providing the right product for the right application. Our range of products include:

Concrete Lintels.

Supreme’s concrete lintels are designed and manufactured in accordance with BS EN845-2-2003 (Part 2: Lintels). Our lintels are available in standard lengths and are lighter to handle than conventional prestressed lintels. A Supreme lightweight aggregate concrete lintel has a greater resistance to heat transmittance than dense aggregate concrete and they are not dependent upon composite action with the brickwork. Most Supreme textured lintels do not need strutting.

Beam & Block Flooring.

The Supreme floor system fulfils the requirements of Local Authorities and NHBC to provide a ground floor free of the inherent problems of subsidence and clay heave. Supreme’s beam and block concrete flooring provides fast installation with no specialist skills needed. Less preparation, no hardcore or over-site concreting worries, can reduce internal foundations. After grouting you have an immediate working platform. The T-profile allows easier handling, placement and storage of the product on site. Rotproof, draughtproof, fire resistant, improved insulation. Suitable for many applications from housing & flats to schools & offices.

Concrete Fencing Posts.

Concrete posts with chainlink or weld mesh provide the most cost-effective method of protecting any premises, Supreme’s range of posts for security and perimeter fencing is one of the widest available in the UK and has been used in some of the country’s most sensitive installations. Whether fencing is required for high security, personal privacy, the Supreme range of concrete fencing accessories provides strength and durability as well as good looks.

Tuff Turf Grass Reinforcement.

Tuff Turf is a revolutionary concrete grass reinforcement system manufactured by Supreme Concrete. Tuff Turf is the green alternative to standard concrete and tarmac car parks and access areas.

Concrete Bollards.

Easy to install and generally maintenance free, the Supreme Concrete range of bollards are suitable for virtually every application, urban and rural, meeting all demands from the economic to the aesthetic.

Concrete Building Products.

In addition to the above Supreme manufacture a large range of concrete products such as concrete coping, peir caps, cills, gully surrounds and cycle blocks.

Supreme Sales Director, welcomes housebuilding on underused & brownfield sites

January 2018

Tim Wright, Sales Director at Supreme Concrete, welcomes housebuilding on underused and brownfield sites as use on concrete products will be boosted.

“Whilst there have been improvements in the number of houses being built for the UK’s growing population, by the Government’s own admission, there has still been a significant shortfall. Today’s budget sought to address this with a number of initiatives which the Chancellor hopes will ensure housebuilder meet the targets they have set out.

Amongst these initiatives is the drive to make better use of land that is underused and that land is available in the right places for homes, including brownfield sites. As a supplier to the housing sector this is something we welcome. Brownfields and urban sites offer many opportunities and they offer a convincing solution to solving the housing shortage.

However, these sites typically require careful consideration and the types of groundworks required will differ from green-field sites. If housebuilders are to maintain the integrity of the property for the lifetime of the building, they need to invest in construction methods and materials that are effective, cost efficient and simple to use. Structural concrete products are essential in achieving this.

We are particularly aware of the needs of cost-conscious volume builders faced with the impact of an industry-wide skills shortage. Our range of precision made concrete structural products, such as our suspended beam and block floor, have been specially developed to meet the needs of today’s building and construction sites. They have become relied up by tradesmen because of the quality and ease of use.

With brownfields sites set to dominate the housing boom in the coming years, not only is the Budget a boost for the housebuilding industry but will also drive further demand for quality concrete products.”

Supreme Concrete, part of Ibstock plc, was founded in 1979 on the basis of innovatively designed products, manufactured with state of the art technology and supported by exceptional customer service. The business has grown to be the U.K.’s largest manufacturer of concrete building products which include; precast building components, fencing and landscape products, flooring and walling systems. Booming repair spur sales mark decline in timber fence life

Concrete repair spurs are used to repair and strengthen timber fence posts that have rotted at ground level due to poor preparation and maintenance. An economic alternative to post replacement, they are simply installed adjacent to the damaged post, which is then securely bolted to the spur to provide ongoing support for the expensive timber fence panels.

Supreme Concrete, market leader in concrete post and panel fencing systems, has been selling Repair Spurs through its national merchant and distribution network for almost 40 years, and has noticed a significant expansion in sales following health and safety legislation which has restricted the types of wood preservative that can now be used to protect timber fencing products.

Concrete fence posts, which are completely rot proof and unaffected by damp conditions, will last 25 years and more, whereas timber posts treated with modern preservatives, are now more susceptible to rot at the ground interface, and can fail after as little as 5 years.

“Timber fence posts have been very popular over the years because they were perceived as a cheap alternative to high performance concrete posts” said Supreme Sales Director, Tim Wright. “Whilst this has never been the case, due to the much longer life expectancy of concrete, the case for concrete is now becoming even more compelling.

“Not only is the life of the timber posts now being affected by use of modern preservatives, which are less effective than those used years ago, the cost of the imported timber used to make the posts has been gradually increasing – to the point where the price differential is now as little as 10% in some cases.

“This differential is more than compensated for by the additional product and labour costs of installing concrete repair spurs when the posts begin to rot – irrespective of the disturbance and damage to garden planting,” he said.

Before making the decision on concrete or timber posts, it is recommended that contractors and homeowners talk to their local Builder’s Merchant or Supreme stockist who will be able to give advice on the most economic and secure long term solution for any fencing requirement, and supply a full package of concrete posts, gravel boards and accessories, to ensure maximum fence life.
