As one of the UK’s first rooflight manufacturers, we have seen many changes in the building industry over the last 60 years. It’s time for change again…and this time it’s a change to our business. Cox Building Products is now part of the large European Group - The JET Group, and will now operate in the UK as JET COX Ltd. The Coxdome Trade Range is a high quality, universal, ‘out of plane’ rooflight system. The range is available in a variety of shapes and sizes and whether you’re a roofing contractor, an architect, a building contractor or a residential client there is an application for all flat roofing requirements.
Manufactured from extruded white PVC-u they come with a choice of 150mm splayed, 300mm splayed or 160mm vertical upstands. Available in double, triple or quadruple skin polycarbonate glazing they can be specified either spherical or pyramidal. Please refer to the section on glazing for individual performances and refer to the relevant Building Regulations thermal performance requirements.
Manufactured from high quality UV protected polycarbonate, Galaxy is a ‘dome only’ solution designed to be fitted to existing builder’s kerbs. Designed to be installed to existing kerbs or upstands, Galaxy is ideal for refurbishment projects, or applications where only the glazing is in need of replacement.
The Coxdome Glass Rooflight is a revolutionary rooflight that is designed to be suitable for even the most noise polluted areas.
Designed in-house, the glass rooflight provides the ideal glazing solution for new build and refurbishment projects. Offering maximum natural light and excellent thermal properties the glass rooflight is also exceptional at reducing unwanted noise; the double glazed insulated glass units provide an external noise reduction of 35dB.
Our new Glass Product Range is designed and manufactured to focus on slim, elegant profile detailing allowing maximum daylight. Many of the products are available in modular sizes and are supplied to site pre- fabricated allowing ease of specification, purchase and installation.
The aluminium profiles are supplied powder coated providing minimal maintenance and on-going costs to site. Other RAL finishes are available on request.
Designed to allow safe and easy access onto the roof space, for frequent inspection or occasional maintenance. Suitable for use on flat roofs with maximum inclination of 15º, they also provide controlled ventilation and emergency escape access.
The Coxdome Sunpipe allows the transfer of daylight into small rooms, tight spaces, or any space that does not currently have the benefit of daylight. Sunpipes transport light in both vertical and horizontal directions with minimum heat transfer, and can be specified to pass through several floors of a building.
In the event of fire, the greatest immediate danger to occupants of a building, comes from smoke, not heat. Coxdome SHEV systems provide smoke and heat exhaust ventilation for all commercial and residential applications. SHEV systems not only help to provide smoke extraction in the event of a fire, they also provide day-to-day controllable ventilation. Systems are linked to a central control panel with battery back-up in case of main electricity failure. Available in clear or obscure polycarbonate glazing to enhance natural daylight, or with a fully insulated solid aluminum cover.
A full range of accessories is available to further enhance the performance of Coxdome SHEV systems, depending on the application. Ranging from weather sensors and wind deflectors, to emergency push buttons and safety fall grids, the accessories are designed to provide a complete safety package that can be tailored to the specific requirements of each project.

A New Era For British Rooflight Manufacturer
Coxdome, a leading British rooflight manufacturer that has been an intrinsic part of the construction industry for almost 70 years, has begun a new era with a move to new premises and the launch of an updated website to support ongoing growth.
Part of the global VELUX group, Coxdome, was established in 1954 and has moved from its premises in Wednesbury to the nearby North Birmingham area of Tipton to facilitate the next phase of growth.
It is an exciting new chapter for the company as the history of Coxdome, and its place within the UK construction industry, continues to evolve. The new premises will help to reinforce the company’s position as one of the premium rooflight suppliers and to continue supporting the industry as the importance of natural light on wellbeing continues to be of primary consideration across domestic and commercial builds.
In addition to the new premises, this newly launched website has provided a platform to share product news, technical information, case studies and industry news to support installers and merchants who want to find out a little more about Coxdome to support their own projects and supply chain networks.
Coxdome is proud to offer a range of rooflight solutions that includes AOV’s, smoke vents, tubular rooflights and also bespoke solutions for individual projects. Its reputation has been built on quality and service and this next chapter will allow Coxdome to support the UK construction network as the demand, and trend, for roof glazing solutions continues to grow.
