- STRUCTURAL CABLE SYSTEMS allow a reduction in diameter from traditional steelwork, minimising visual impact of supportive structures and maximising light and space within the building.
- CABLE TENSION MEMBERS are typically used to span long distances or in applications where the bend in the cable is used to provide tension to whatever is attached along its length - for example Catenary Cable Systems, Bow Truss / Bow Strut Glass Supports, Cable Net Structures and Tensile Fabric Structures.
- TENSION BAR SYSTEMS are used in lightweight structures where high stiffness tension members are required.
- ARCHITECTURAL TIE BARS have many applications - for example Canopy Supports, Window Cross Bracing, Brise Soleil Solar Shading, Planar Glazing / Glass Walls, Tie Beams and Roof Truss Bracing.
- CABLE RAIL / BALUSTRADE SYSTEMS & GREENWALL FACADES small diameter cables make for efficient and attractive balustrade infill suitable for use in a variety of situations from shopping centres to bridges, back gardens to blocks of flats.
BRIDON GALFAN CABLE SYSTEMS Bridon Galfan Spiral Strand and Galfan Locked Coil Cable assemblies are integral to many landmark structures around the world. This system allows a reduction in diameter from traditional steelwork, minimising visual impact of supportive structures and maximising light and space within the building.
X-TEND CABLE MESH CarlStahl X-TEND™ Stainless Steel Mesh is the original Architectural Cable Mesh system. Generally the mesh is fabricated specifically for a job so please contact us with details of your concept or project for assistance with specification.

WE APPRECIATE OUR APPRENTICES!
September is a month of new starts, and it’s no different at Petersen, where our latest recruits are starting their apprenticeships with TDR Training.
We decided to mark this by holding an Appreciate your Apprentices Day last week, celebrating our apprentices at all stages – new starters, those who are part-way, recent completers, and those for whom their apprenticeship is a dim memory…!
It also gave us an opportunity to say thank you to the whole Petersen team who work hard to mentor and support our apprentices through their courses and beyond.
Kevin Bell, CEO of Petersen, said, “Doing an apprenticeship is a real commitment, combining real world work with challenging study. Today was a great way for us to recognise that commitment, and highlight the real contribution our apprentices make to Petersen. I was also keen to say thanks to the team leaders, supervisors and other colleagues who give their time and expertise willingly to help our apprentices develop and grow in their time with us.”
Petersen’s apprenticeship vacancies for 2018 have already been filled, with four new apprentices starting their courses in September meaning that for the year 2018/19, Petersen will have seven apprenticeships with TDR.
See www.tdrtraining.co.uk for more information on TDR and their courses.
WE'RE QUALITY APPROVED!
We are very proud to announce that we have passed the audit of our Quality Management System. This means that our QMS has been approved to the new standards of ISO 9001:2015 and the much more stringent aerospace industry standard AS9100:D, under the terms set out under United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accreditation.
After a week of close scrutiny by the auditors from Lloyds Register, who inspected every aspect of our quality system from back office functions to manufacturing processes, our team was pleased to hear they had passed with flying colours. They demonstrated that they consistently and accurately follow the correct processes, and work with a strong customer focus and a drive to continual improvement, at all levels and areas of the business.
Shelley Wales, General Manager, was delighted that the hard work and dedication of the Petersen team has been recognised, “I am so proud of every member of the team. Achieving a quality accreditation is not about the week of the audit – it’s about the attention to detail every single day of the year. It is this consistency that makes our system so robust and one in which customers can trust.”
ISO 9001 sets out the criteria for a quality management system, and approval to the standard is proof of our commitment to providing quality products and services. There are over one million companies and organizations in over 170 countries certified to ISO 9001, and we are delighted to be one of them. AS9100, which is based on ISO 9001, provides a specific quality management standard for the aerospace industry, with a focus on risk, traceability and continuous improvement of quality and service.
