Bellcast beads - PVC bellcast beads / drip beads for external rendering applications.

Renderplas plastic bellcast beads / drip beads offer a value for money alternative to stainless steel beads because they are made from cost-effective recycled exterior grade, impact resistant, UV stable PVC and are guaranteed not to stain or corrode like galvanized steel beads, reducing spalling and impact damage.

Corner / angle beads - PVC corner beads / angle beads for rendering and plastering.

Designed to outlast their metal counterparts, plastic beads are guaranteed to be fit for purpose for the lifetime of the render and at least 25 years. Our PVC beads match the stipulations of the British and European standard for the design requirements of metal beads and lath (BS EN 13658-2:2005), are BBA certified, Class 1Y fire rated, and are not affected by weather.

Movement joints - PVC movement joints / expansion joint beads for rendering and plastering.

Renderplas Expansion Joints / Movement Joints are designed to prevent cracking to render through thermal expansion and compression. Installed over a structural movement joint once settling is complete. Can be used horizontally as a day joint to disguise a break in the application of render and provide an attractive architectural detail with a gentle shadow. MJ4 can be folded through 90 degrees to form an internal corner on plasterboard and all profiles can be fitted in this way if a movement joint is required in an internal corner.

Stop Beads - PVC stop beads for rendering and plastering applications.

Designed to provide a stop to the render at window and door frames and at changes to the facade to produce a straight finish and protection against impact. Can also be used for internal plastering applications.

Colour Range:

Our external render beads come in 12 colours including terracotta, willow, slate and sky, to match the vast majority of renders available from leading manufacturers. Renderplas PVC beads need no alternative maintenance and eliminate the time and cost of re-painting, which would be required when using metal beads. Colours are UV stabilized to provide a perfect finish for the years to come.

Drylining beads: PVCu beads for drylining / drywall applications.

Renderplas PVC drylining beads offer the perfect solution for skim plastering and drywall applications. Because they are made locally from cost-effective recycled PVC, they offer a value for money alternative to metal products. They are guaranteed not to stain during a lengthy drying out process or in situations with high moisture or salt such as kitchens, bathrooms and pool enclosures. They are particularly well suited to schools, prisons and hospitals as they do not provide any threat to safety either after a heavy impact or if pulled out of the wall.

Renderplas PVC beads do like to be beside the seaside

A coastal environment can be one of the harshest for a building to withstand so when a Grade 2 listed, Victorian kiosk was due to be relocated and renovated on the Brighton seafront, Renderplas PVC beads were immediately sourced for the internal plasterwork.

In 2015 Brighton & Hove City Council started work on the long and difficult process of essential maintenance work to save the Brighton seafront road which, at the time, was in danger of collapse. As part of the project the wooden framed Shelter Hall Kiosk, dating back to the 1880s, was painstakingly dismantled and relocated to its new home on the Upper Prom, 200 meters away from its original location.

Instrumental to the successful completion of this process was the West Sussex based construction company, Harrity Building and Construction Ltd. Owner of the company, Mr. Chris Harrity, who has many years’ experience tackling such complex projects, explained that an important part of the reconstruction was the internal plastering. Although metal beads were originally specified Chris insisted that Renderplas PVC beads were the right choice for the job.

“Though the beads were used internally, we still felt it necessary to use Renderplas PVC beads rather than galvanised or stainless as we could be 100% certain that they would not rust or bleed through the plaster.”

The kiosk will need to withstand many torrential storms, long winters and harsh atmospheric conditions as Chris Harrity comments “the newly located kiosk will have to endure high salt levels. Renderplas beads give us peace of mind that there will be no need for costly ongoing remedial repairs.”

The British and European Standard for the design and application of external render (BS EN 13914-1:2016) stipulates that only PVC beads and stainless steel beads can be used in applications of high atmospheric moisture and background salt. Renderplas beads meet this standard and are a fraction of the price of stainless steel beads, they are the ideal choice for all coastal building projects.

Renderplas white corner and stop beads, used on the project, are made from cost-effective 100% recycled, exterior grade, impact resistant, UV stable PVC, and are guaranteed for 25 years, meaning no costly repair bills or returns to site for Brighton & Hove City Council or Harrity Building and Construction Ltd.

Renderplas PVC beads support sustainable regeneration

Strong and sustainable, Renderplas PVC render beads are creating clean, contemporary details to the rendering of regeneration projects by Cruden Homes in the East End of Glasgow. Hundreds of new homes at Crossbank Drive, Rutherglen and Baron’s Vale, Tollcross are part of an ambitious programme to replace the city’s 1960s tenements and build brand new, vibrant communities with modern, affordable housing.

In recent years, Glasgow’s East End has seen huge levels of investment and regeneration, which has transformed the area. New housing developments are offering high-quality homes based on low energy design principles and use sustainable materials, which fits well with Renderplas’s eco-friendly ethos. All Renderplas beads are made from recycled exterior grade PVC that is both impact resistant and UV stable.

Glasgow-based G Barton Plastering Ltd has worked on many of the city’s regeneration projects, including Crossbank Drive and Baron’s Vale. The company’s expert applicators specialise in applying render for all types of projects.
