Silver Kite - HIGH QUALITY ARCHITECTURAL IRONMONGERY
Silver Kite was formed in 1998 with the aim of making and supplying high quality architectural ironmongery.
We have three product groups:-
Our Arbor range of architectural ironmongery is manufactured exclusively by us, and each item is made by combining the beauty of wood with the hard wearing qualities of brass components. There are many different combinations of woods and finishes to choose from.
Our Classic range of architectural ironmongery comprises of brass door, window and cabinet fittings, and can be supplied in a multitude of different finishes. We have added electrical accessories to our Classic range. These are of a flat plate design and are available with either square or round corners.
Both our Arbor and Classic ranges can be used along side each other. We apply the same finishes to components from both ranges.
We can also make special products. These can be based on full engineering drawings produced by you, or we can work from a dimensioned sketch.
Arbor Range of Architectural Ironmongery:
Our unique Arbor range of architectural ironmongery is made exclusively by us and encompasses door, window and cabinet fittings.
Each item of this extensive range is made by combining the beauty of natural wood with the hard wearing qualities of brass components. There are thirteen varieties of wood to choose from (all sourced from sustainable forests) and thirteen different finishes can be applied to the brass components.
In addition we can colour coat the wooden parts in any colour that you like, ensuring that you have unlimited choice to meet the exact requirements of your design scheme.
Classic Range of Architectural Inronmongery:
We are architectural ironmongery specialists supplying the total ironmongery requirements of high quality building projects.
All of our Classic products are made in the U.K. to the highest possible standards.
Special Products:
We can make special items to customer`s own designs.
Sometimes a standard product just will not work, either for aesthetic reasons or because of technical requirements.
Working from engineering drawings or even just a sketch, we can put forward suggestions and submit a price.

Colour Coated Ironmongery from Silver Kite
In addition to the thirteen different woods we use, we can colour coat the wooden components to suit a particular design scheme.
The colour can be either a standard RAL colour, or a non-standard colour for us to match.
We use a 2 part acid catalyst lacquer with a sheen of approximately 20%.
This gives a tough and durable finish.
We don’t recommend that items which have grooves are colour coated.
When ordering Arbor items to be colour coated, there will be an additional cost, which depends on the lacquer specified and how many items are involved. Therefore please advise us before you place the order so we can work out this additional cost.

Silver Kite Special Dimmer Switch
We can supply special electrical accessories like this 5 gang dimmer.
In fact, one of the units is a push/push switch not a dimmer.
This combination of switches could not fit on a standard plate, so a longer plate had to be made, and a special wall box supplied.
The finish is “dark imitation bronze metal antique” (DIB) finish, just one of fourteen luxurious finishes we can apply to any of our products.
