AKW Supports WDP Charity Golf Day 2025
For a third year, AKW proudly supported Warrington Disability Partnership (WDP) as they hosted their annual Charity Golf Day on Thursday 19th June 2025.
Returning to Houghwood Golf Club in St Helens, Merseyside for a second year, 17 teams of keen golfers spent a gloriously sunny day playing 18 holes under clear blue skies with temperatures soaring up to 28°C.
Among the 66 players were AKW Sales Directors Vince Moorton, Simon Hancox and Tom Davies, representatives from The OT Service, CHIC and City Plumbing, and many more who came together to support the vital work WDP does for the disabled community.
In addition to a game of golf, all participants were given the opportunity to ‘Beat the Pro’ and take part in a variety of challenges, before concluding the day with a delicious buffet, awards ceremony and charity auction of football memorabilia.
A huge £9,500 was raised at this year’s golf day – more than at each of our 2023 and 2024 events – with the funds raised going towards Warrington Disability Partnership’s operational costs, helping their team to carry on the great work they do every day.
AKW charity partners since 2022, Warrington Disability Partnership is a user-led charity which aims to relieve the needs of disabled people, their families and carers in England and Wales, through actively promoting independent living.
WDP provide information on peer counselling, equipment, personal assistance, transport, access, employment, education, training and a range of other services, and benefit from over 30 years’ experience developing and delivering mobility and independent living services.
