Brewers were delighted to donate over 100L of paint and sundries to the Old Bank Wellbeing Trust, an Eastbourne charity committed to making counselling accessible for all.
The Old Bank directors, Dani and Claire worked as trustees for a local charity which provided low-cost counselling services for over 15 years.
When the charity closed due to a lack of funding, they were determined to set up a not-for-profit company that could provide professional counselling services for those who could afford it and to use any profits to subsidise counselling for those on a low income.
Aware of the difficulties for some in accessing counselling, The Old Bank are committed to removing stigma around the experience of poor mental health and normalising the benefits of counselling.
Since then, they are proud to have obtained charity status for The Old Bank in February 2023.
The Old Bank consists of 8 rooms, where a large team of therapists (including qualified counsellors and counsellors who are in training) provide a warm welcome and support to those who need it.
With a children’s therapy room, a group therapy space, training spaces, reception and refreshment area and individual therapy rooms, the facilities needed a refresh to create fresh and welcoming new spaces.
A range of colours were donated including Teal Voyage, Tranquil Dawn, Village Maze, Faded Indigo, Coastal Grey and white to give spaces their own identity.
