AKW Support Mears Group with Fundraising for Longfield Community Hospice
AKW proudly partnered with XPO Logistics on Monday 13th January to support Mears Group with fundraising for Longfield Community Hospice.
AKW Sales Director, Craig Phelan, and XPO driver, Matt, joined a team of regional volunteers and businesses who every year participate in Longfield’s annual Christmas Tree Recycling Event.
The event sees volunteers collect Christmas trees from postcodes across Gloucestershire for a small donation in aid of Longfield, who provides free care for adults in Gloucestershire with life-limiting illnesses, as well as support for their loved ones and carers.
Once collected, the Christmas trees are taken to various recycling points across the county, where they are chipped into mulch and then reused locally.
The fundraiser aims to raise £72,000, which could help fund over 1,300 hours of Hospice at Home care or be used to support their wellbeing, counselling and bereavement support.
