Supporting The Downham Community Project

The Brewers Foundation were delighted to donate £250 worth of decorating supplies to the Downham Men’s Group to create a Health & Wellbeing space within the Goldsmiths Community Centre.
Dulux Weathershield and Albany Soft Sheen were donated towards the Downham Men’s Group which has been coordinated by Trevor Pybus of Downham Nutrition Partnership.

More about the organisations:
Downham Nutrition Partnership (DNP) promotes any charitable purposes for the benefit of the community in Lewisham including the advancement of education, the protection of health and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness. In 2024, Downham Men’s Group became members of DNP.

Downham Men’s Group deliver social sessions where men are encouraged to support themselves and the local community. They undertake many projects that benefit the community, working as a team and most importantly drinking lots of tea!

Ideas are initiated by the members of Downham Men’s Group, with each session starting with tea and a chat about their plans going forward. It was decided that the Goldsmiths Community Centre could be brightened up with Health and Wellbeing space in the inner courtyard, with a mural celebrating 100 years of Downham - at the moment they are seeking a local artist who could help with the design of the mural.
You can see the progress of the centre by checking out their Facebook Page.
