Power Access Systems Goes Back To University

When the University of Manchester decided to build the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons Building their contractor, Wates Construction, turned to Power Access Systems to supply and install a bespoke travelling gantry system to provide access to the high-level glazed roof areas.

The £24m Learning Commons building has been designed to give students a focal point for learning, offering a stimulating and comfortable 24/7 environment for study. The world-class 21st century study space boasts more than 1000 flexible study spaces and an inspiring range of equipment and furnishings for individual and group study.

The travelling gantry provides safe and efficient access to the vertical and sloping glazing over the open plan central area to enable the building to be maintained to the high standards expected by a leading University.

This is one of many bespoke access systems that Power Access Systems has installed since 1983.
