A lock is a mechanism used to secure a door or other opening from the outside. A mortice lock is a type of lock that is installed within a rectangular pocket, or mortice, in the edge of a door. It can be operated using a key on either side of the door. A 5 lever deadlock is a type of mortice lock that requires a key to lock and unlock it, and has five levers inside the lock mechanism for added security.
