Tensar International is a world-leader in the manufacture of soil reinforcement, earth retaining and ground stabilisation.
Tensar’s high performance range of innovative geogrid and geotextile products has been continuously developed since their introduction in the 1970s as the first products of their type. The superior performance of Tensar products has benefited thousands of roads, rail, runway, embankments and many other applications across the world. Backed by regional offices and an international network of specialist distributors, our service and products are available wherever ground reinforcement and soil stabilization are required. National authorities leading universities and independent laboratories have rigorously tested Tensar’s geogrid, retaining and geotextile products.
Tensar Range of products also include:
TriAxTM Ground Stabilisation Geogrid.
The TriAxTM geogrid is formed using the most stable geometric shape - the equilateral triangle - as opposed to the rectangular or square structure which makes up the conventional Tensar bi-axial product. Extensive independent trials have shown it to have superior performance in multi-directional stiffness and aggregate confinement, enabling a reduction in granular layer thickness. It also has the potential to achieve cost-in-use savings. TriAx geocells are used for ground stabilisation particularly where a high load bearing is required. The TriAx® TX-G geogrid incorporates a geomembrane and is for use in application areas with high water levels or mobile subgrade soils and when using fill that is not well graded.
RE & UX uniaxial Earth Retaining Geogrids.
Tensar geogrids are used for reinforcement of soils in construction of structures such as retaining walls, bridge abutments, steep slopes, slip repairs and geocell mattresses. Tensar geogrids (characterised by long, slim apertures) have been orientated in one direction during manufacture to produce high strength, long life geocell and are used to reinforce the soil and create mechanically stabilised earth (MSE) layers.
Basetex Embankment Reinforcement.
Basetex geotextile is used for the reinforcement of soils in construction of structures such as embankments, fills supported by piles and fills placed over voids. Basetex is a high strength geotextile manufactured by the weft insertion process.
Tensartech Bridge Abutment and Retaining Wall Systems.
Tensartech Earth Retaining Systems are based on Tensar Technology and the proven performance of Tensar uniaxial geogrids. Tensar geogrids combined with our range of retaining walling also provide a specifiers a choice of systems. These include modular concrete blocks, split face blocks, gabion or a landscaped finish. Tensartech slopes may be built at up to an angle of 70° beyond and Tensartech NaturalGreen are for structures built to 45°.
Tensar have a range of solutions for both Coastal and Inland flood defence projects. We have many years of experience in this application area ranging from replacements of river walls to full flood defence systems. Tensartech Earth Retaining Systems can provide the complete package from preliminary design through to on-site assistance.
Glasstex Asphalt Reinforcement Geotextile.
Glasstex is a non woven geotextile suitable for the reinforcement of thin layer ashpalt. Once saturated with asphalt Glasstex becomes a reinforcing waterproofing layer that is particularly suitable for situations with sustained loading such as that caused by frost heave and soil swelling tension stresses or by temperature induced joint movements. GlasstexPatch is our alternative product for use on localised cracks and asphalt repairs.
AR-G Structural Pavement Reinforcement.
Tensar AR-G composite is suitable for increasing the fatigue life of pavements with weak foundations, reducing rutting and controlling reflective cracking and prolongs the service life of roads. Tensar AR-G is a composite consisting of a stiff monolithic geogrid cells that provide a reinforced pavement by mechanically interlocking asphalt into the grid’s apertures.
Tensar Mat Erosion Control for Slopes.
Tensar Mat is used to control soil erosion on slopes including those that are subjected to wave run-up or are intermittently wet. Tensar Mat is also routinely installed on river banks, shorelines, ditches, and spillways.
