The Gilded Elm is a structure designed by artist Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva, formed out of one half of the Preston Twin Elms. The tree suffered from Dutch Elm Disease, and was destined to be burned, but has now been turned into a work of art and put back in place next to its twin in Brighton's Preston Park.
