In this episode, Mark gets up close and personal with the finer details of a bespoke precast winder stair, including an attached corbel for structural support, indentations for handrail fixing and lifting eyes for installation. Winder or 'Dog Leg' stairs are narrower on one side than the other. They are used to change the directional travel without the need for additional landings, perfect for use in townhouses where space is limited. A series of winders installed in formation form a circular or spiral stairway.
