ACO Multiline Sealin
Introducing the first high-strength grated channel drainage system in the UK with a fully integrated seal as standard. Providing comprehensive groundwater protection, the Multiline Sealin system is suitable for use in a wide range of applications including commercial, housing and parking areas as well as pedestrian precincts. The integrated seal promotes fast installation, as contractors are only required to apply traditional seal lubricant when installing the system, rather than manually apply secondary sealant which may not guarantee water tightness if not properly applied. Manufactured from polymer concrete to meet load class D 400, the channel can also be finished with a wide range of aesthetic grating choices, including ACO’s sleek brickslot, which is ideal for the building curtilage. Further grating security is guaranteed through the use of the ACO Drainlock boltless locking system. Comprehensive use of seals throughout the whole channel system, including sump, junctions and vertical outlets, means that Sealin is an advancement on BS EN 1433 requirements, which only mandate testing of a two-channel section for water tightness. ACO also undertook additional testing with the independent German organisation IKT and the Sealin system was remained water tight for 72 hours and 500,000 cycles.
ACO Qmax high capacity slot drainage
ACO Qmax is a high capacity, heavy-duty and versatile slot drainage system suitable for surface water management and attenuation. Available in 6 sizes, ensuring greater flexibility for engineers and designers in optimizing hydraulic schemes. The patented ‘Pavement beam’ allows a continuous flow of concrete from one side of the channel to the other, which enables the strong, slim edge rail to support all load classes, up to and including F 900. The range of sizes can help minimise the number of drainage runs required in a project, and greatly simplifies connecting to the existing infrastructure.

GSE Building & Civil Engineering and the consultant Engineers, Cannon, collaborated with ACO Water Management on a value engineering solution using the ACO Qmax high-capacity slot drainage system. This reduced the drainage runs across site from five to just three. The design was developed using the ACO QuAD Hydraulic design with intermediate Qmax 350 units selected.
