Schöck Combar® Glass Fibre Reinforcement Passes Crash Test
Combar®, Schöck's glass fibre reinforcement, supplied further proof of its strength and material capabilities. A barrier wall reinforced with Combar® sustained the impact of a 36 ton truck travelling at 80 km/h with very little damage. The superior tensile strength of glass fibre reinforcement is just one of the numerous advantages it offers over steel rebar. Schock Ltd
Balcony Warmth with Structural Thermal Breaks
Balconies with structural thermal breaks installed provide warmth and thermal efficiency. Learn the benefits of thermal breaks installed in building envelopes and how high efficiency construction in your building structure can result in savings. Warm floors mean warm toes. Multifamily residences often have cold floor near the balcony due to thermal bridging at the balcony. The solution is the Schöck Isokorb® structural thermal breaks. Schock Ltd
Schöck Dorn type SLD: Transfer of high shear forces within expansion joint.
Structures without slab joists and cantilevers can be realised with the Schöck Dorn SLD shear load connector, which acts as a slab support. The Schöck dowel bar is made of high grade stainless steel and is corrosion proof. The low frictional resistance and good abrasion resistance of the material ensure joint permanency and maintenance-free movement, thus sustaining load bearing capacity. Tested and approved The dowel's assurance of safety has been tested and approved by the German Institute for Construction Technology (DIBt) in Berlin. The optionally available fire protection collar enables F-90 system solutions. Schock Ltd
Staircase with acoustic separation provided by Schöck Tronsole®
For the first time, DIN 7396 describes clear test conditions for measuring the acoustic properties of impact soundproofing elements. Tests are performed on common staircase geometries and under the loads usually occurring in buildings. The characteristic values specified in DIN 7396 can be used for soundproofing certification according to DIN 4109. All Schöck Tronsole® types have been tested using this procedure.
