REHAU delivers “Unlimited Polymer Solutions” and is the premium worldwide brand for polymer-based innovations and systems in Building Technology. Founded in 1948 in the Bavarian town of Rehau. In 1962 REHAU opened in the UK and now has 4 Sales offices, 2 factories, warehouse and specification office in London.
REHAU Building Technology
District heating (heat networks) is the concept of one large centralised boiler instead of individual boilers. Heat is then transported via pre-insulated district heating pipes into each building. REHAU offer 2 pre-insulated pipes:
RAUVITHERM is the only PE-Xa district heating pipe manufactured in the UK which saves an estimated 29% on CO2 emissions. Ideal for district heating, biomass, biogas and heat pump applications. Available in UNO 25-125mm and DUO 25-63mm.
RAUTHERMEX offers huge advantages over traditional steel pipework due to the speed and ease of installation. The high performance PU foam makes it ideal for large district heating over long distances where heat losses are critical. Available in UNO 25-160mm and DUO 20-75mm.

REHAU announces new guide to offsite construction
REHAU announces new guide to offsite construction
While offsite construction is not a new concept, it has recently seen a resurgence within the UK construction market – and one that is expected to continue. In line with this, REHAU has produced a new dedicated guide on the subject aimed at M&E contractors and building services engineers to help them negotiate offsite construction and get the best out of this way of working.
The guide provides an insight into the reasons for the increase in popularity of the technique, which include the influence of government policy, the residential housing crisis and emergence of built-to-rent. Advice is also provided on the importance of embracing and adapting sooner rather than later and how this will pay dividends in the long run.
With many potential users being members or affiliated to the main industry bodies, such as CIBSE, BESA, BSRIA and IME, the guide explores the current viewpoint of each of these organisations as well as highlighting the reasons for adopting the techniques on a range projects and what they can deliver.
The guide focuses on three of the key applications currently experiencing growth; bathroom pods, utility cupboards and volumetric modular, while detailing the many features and benefits of working with prefabrication and pre-assembly.
HVAC product integration and the key considerations for heating and plumbing products when utilised in offsite construction is also explored in the guide. Benefits such as the need for fewer joints in pipe runs, leak proof piping, durability of materials, space saving, reducing the need for hot works, as well as quick and easy installation are all discussed.
Drew Clough Product Manager for Building Solutions at REHAU, said: “In recent years we’ve seen a massive increase in the amount of building services projects adopting offsite construction techniques. As such, we felt it would be appropriate to give engineers the benefit of our extensive experience of working in this way and put together a guide to assist them.
“Some engineers may not be familiar with offsite construction and all it entails. Like many things, at first it may seem daunting and a bit of a minefield to understand how it all works. Hopefully, they will find this guide useful in their endeavours and it is important to add that we’re always available and happy to provide any advice and technical support they may need afterwards.”
’An M&E guide to offsite construction for building services‘ is the latest in a series of free-to-download guides from REHAU‘s Build Your Legacy campaign. This is an initiative created to encourage M&E contractors to consider how the product choices they make today will impact on a building’s performance in years to come. The focus of the initiative is centred around four key ways to deliver more sustainable, future proof installations by addressing Quality, Technical Knowhow, Trust and Reliability, and Innovation and Sustainability.

REHAU TO EXHIBIT RANGE OF SOLUTIONS AT TALL BUILDINGS CONFERENCE
REHAU TO EXHIBIT RANGE OF SOLUTIONS AT TALL BUILDINGS CONFERENCE
Polymer pipework specialist REHAU will be exhibiting a range of products at this year’s Tall Buildings Conference, taking place on April 30 in London.
The conference is set to explore the unique challenges that tall buildings present, from design through to construction, attracting developers, local authorities, architects, investors and planners. The event will also showcase innovative design and building technology in the UK high rise sector and offer attendees the chance to discuss emerging trends.
This year REHAU will be exhibiting a range of its products that are perfectly engineered for tall buildings, including the RAUTITAN and RAUPIANO pipework products and the new Smart Plumbing Manifold.
An ideal alternative solution for large multi-occupancy or commercial projects to traditional materials is the flexible PE-Xa RAUTITAN heating and plumbing system, which delivers on durability, corrosion resistance and ease of installation. It is fully WRAS certified as it is hygienic for drinking water and its smooth surface prevents deposits forming while cavity-free impermeable joints eliminate the risk of microbial contamination. RAUTITAN is also suitable for radiator connections and can be used for installations through the floor, skirting board or wall.
Another product suited to the high-rise occupancy market is the REHAU Smart Link Plumbing Manifold, an innovative, compact, time-saving and versatile plumbing solution. The modular design makes it a flexible product, while the use of superior materials including PPSU ball valves guarantees a hardwearing, reliable manifold that installers can rely on. The ease of installation makes it a highly convenient and cost-effective solution for managing water distribution and are one of the many reasons the product has been shortlisted in the Offsite Awards Product Innovation of the Year category. Tried, tested and proven in a number of large-scale projects, especially in the high-rise occupancy market where utility pods and HIUs are commonplace, the Smart Link Plumbing Manifold is a true market leader.
REHAU will also be featuring its brand-new acoustic soil and waste solution – RAUPIANO, which launched in September 2018. The RAUPIANO product offers excellent 17dB acoustic performance, 120-minute fire protection, high chemical resistance and a 2 bar rated push-fit jointing system. The acoustic performance of the product is due to its multi-layer composition as well as the design of its bends and brackets, with the bends having thickened walls in sound critical areas, while branch components feature hydraulically optimised inner contours to minimise flow noise. All these factors combine to make RAUPIANO an ideal selection for a high-rise or multi occupancy buildings.
