A rise in demand for moveable walls from the religious sector has been attributed to the high end acoustic ratings provided by Style.
According to Steve Williams, Style’s sales director for the Midlands, there has been rising demand for flexible space in churches, crematoriums, synagogues and other places of worship, and a key criteria has been the ability to offer a substantial sound barrier between rooms when the moveable walls are in place.
“Religious buildings host a wide range of activities every day, from community meetings to youth groups, music rehearsals and prayer meetings.
“As a result, there is a high demand for adaptable space so that concurrent events can be hosted at the same time.
“However, its critical that these events don’t disturb one another, particularly if a quiet, peaceful gathering is taking place at the same time as a band practice.
“Its for this reason why the high-end acoustic ratings of our moveable walls has been so important, and is why we continue to see strong demand from this sector for our flexible room solutions.”
Style’s Midlands office has delivered a number of very successful moveable, sliding and folding wall solutions in religious buildings. In the south, Style has also recently completed two projects; one at Alyth Gardens synagogue and the other in St Mary the Virgin Church in Henham, Essex.
Style also offers other solutions for the religious sector too. At a crematorium in Nottinghamshire, Style included a pass door in a fully glazed moveable wall but increased the height to 2400mm to enable a coffin to be brought in, and it also included automatic blinds within glass to provide complete privacy during services.
