Project Overview
Quantick were approached by a Kemtile who was tasked with renovating a number of stair cases at Sunderland Train Station. The Train Station required a Stair nosing product which offered a high contrast to the surrounding flooring, good slip resistance in wet and dry conditions, and most importantly could stand up to the heavy repeated foot traffic associated with a train station.
The Solution
Quantick supplied our QA1 and QA4 profiles with our Heavy Duty CarbiGrip Carborundum infill, which Kemtile installed onto the stairs and screeded up to the back edge of the nosings in order to create a rebated stair nosing and partial stair tread cover.
Our QA1 and QA4 with our Yellow CarbiGrip Anti-Slip Carborundum Infill created a high contrast on the steps edge against the surrounding black subfloor, making the steps easier to navigate for the partially sighted and helping meet DOC M and DDA requirements for Public access.
The use of our CarbiGrip Carborundum Infill in our QA1 and QA4 provided an anti-slip finish to the steps edge with a low potential for slips in wet and dry conditions, and supplied a heavy duty option capable of withstanding the high foot traffic at the Railway Station.
