Installers can regularly come across a pipe that needs connecting but do not have a suitable or enough outside surface area to connect a traditional coupling, for example, the pipe may be encased in concrete or may have been cut off close to a wall or floor. For this type of situation Fernco can offer its Icon range to make a connection using the internal surface area of the pipe.
Creating a seamless pipe transition, the Icon coupling removes the internal joint step to aid the flow of water within the drainage system removing the risk of water getting trapped or stopped. Featuring superior joint stability, and using highly engineered plastics, Fernco has improved the shear support of the coupling, as well as the sewer hydraulics when compared to the conventional external pipe connections.
