ALSAN liquid waterproofing BBA certified for blue and warm roofs
Soprema is proud to announce that – in addition to green roofs, car parks, balconies and terraces – yet another application has been added to ALSAN 770’s BBA accreditation, namely blue roofs. Being BBA approved, our liquid waterproofing system is independently verified as one of the very few on the market to be fit for blue roofs. With ALSAN recently approved for use in warm roofs as well, Soprema now has more applications for liquid waterproofing than any other waterproofing and insulations provider in the UK. It is our way of ensuring our solutions have all the performance properties required for your project.
The benefits of a BBA approved product
There is often a vast range of options available when you are looking to specify a waterproofing system. BBA certification will help you make up your mind, as it assesses key factors such as durability, weathertightness and reaction to fire in relation to specific applications. When specifying a solution approved by the BBA or British Board of Agrément, you are certain to get a high-quality and reliable product that meets the required building standards.
Among other characteristics, ALSAN 770’s BBA accreditation for blue roofs, pertains to fire safety. It testifies to the fact that this liquid waterproofing system enables a roof to be unrestricted under the National Building Regulations. In other words, with ALSAN, you are certain of a BROOF(T4) approval.
More options thanks to BBA certification
Across our entire range, Soprema is investing in BBA certification and in fire testing, thereby expanding your options. ALSAN’s recent BBA accreditation allows you to safely specify a cold-applied solution in a warm roof scenario, therefore specifying a system that is certain to meet BROOF(T4) requirements. ALSAN is also deemed suitable for warm roofs with a tapered insulation scheme, based on the different insulation materials it has been tested with.
Other waterproofing systems with blue roof accreditation
Our different products listed in the BBA serve a wide range of applications and we keep adding more, closing the gaps as we go along. With what has changed on the BBA, we now have warm roof with air and vapour control layer, SOPRATHERM G, SOPRALENE STICK 30 S or 3.2 mm SOPRABOARD, ALSAN 770 liquid waterproofing with BROOF(T4) compliance; the blue roof approval has been added; and there is also the detailed fire annex of the systems added to the new BBA. SOPRALENE bituminous system has blue roof accreditation, as does DUOFLEX structural waterproofing. The testing procedure for blue roofs is rigorous, taking no less than 180 days.
