Stokvis boilers for plant-room refurbishment of St Luke's Hospital

St Luke's Hospital, Oxfordshire, has undergone a major site-wide refurbishment, with new Stokivs Energy Systems boilers being installed by Lowe & Oliver.

St Luke's Hospital is a unique nursing home offering long stay nursing care and short stay post-operative care, rehabilitation and respite care, as well as having consulting rooms and clinics. Stokvis Energy Systems' Modupak boilers, comprising of BV Series cylinders and an Econopress pressurisation unit, were specified by Paul Young of QODA Consulting. The hospital needed to remain open during the refurbishment works, so the project needed reliable equipment of the highest standard that could be supplied and installed quickly.

Paul Young commented, "The service Stokvis Energy Systems provided was outstanding. A representative from Stokvis came to the site and recommended the best products for the plant room, taking into account the space restrictions of the lower ground floor and the need for a smooth installation process as the hospital is a working site."

The main plant-room now features six Stokvis Modupak solutions, including two Econoplate BV series cylinders for hot water systems and one Econopress pressurisation set, which are designed for floor or wall-mounting. The Econoplate units consist of plate heat exchangers, buffer vessels and circulation pumps and can be specified to provide high volumes of domestic hot water or other services as required.
