KNOW-HOW

Axis has extensive knowledge and experience in the automatic door industry, dealing with a wide range of clients in both the public and private sectors.

Axis is an active member of ADSA – Automatic Door Suppliers Association. Detailed risk assessments to BS7036-0 and surveys ensure all installations conform to all EN16005:2012 safety standards.

We have an array of accreditations and are always seeking to improve. We ensure that our staff are trained and given opportunities to develop and grow with us. All our technical and engineering staff are certified to EN16005, CSCS Health and Safety where appropriate and receive continual product training.

 

AN ESTABLISHED COMPANY 

Axis was formed in 2008 by the amalgamation of two very successful associated companies, namely Axis (Northampton) Ltd and Automatic Entrance Systems Ltd. Both companies had been trading for a number of years and came together onto the same site as long ago as 2000 with Axis concentrating on service and maintenance and Automatic Entrance Systems concentrating on the supply, installation and maintenance of Stanley automatic door equipment. The new, combined company retained the sole UK distributorship of Stanley automatic door equipment and the simpler corporate structure facilitated a complete service to customers requiring anything from an extensive new facade to spares and maintenance for an existing installation.

As part of continuing development and to meet customer requirements, Axis also has sole UK distributorships for Manusa Healthcare Doors and Doorson Automatic door products.

On the first October 2019, the company changed its name to Axis Entrance Systems Limited. The new name is the result of an extensive re-branding project that whilst maintaining the history and successful links to Axis, is now a more accurate representation of the current product portfolio and services.

Axis is the proud developer of the Flo-Motion® manual sliding door system, a multi award winning and innovative product designed specifically for BDP Architects and installed at the new Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

AXIS SECURES POSITION ON PROCURE23 RECOMMENDED SUPPLIERS LIST FOR NHS PROJECTS

Axis, the manufacturer of the innovative and award-winning Flo-Motion® manual sliding door system, developed specifically for the healthcare sector, has been awarded a coveted position on the ProCure23 Recommended Suppliers List.

ProCure23 is the fourth generation of NHS England’s route to market for the provision of design and construction services to NHS capital projects. Axis was on the ProCure22 list, which this now supersedes.

Axis is accredited to Constructionline Gold, CHAS, ADSA, Alcumus and IIP, and as well as manufacturing and supply, Axis provides installation and maintenance services from its central UK base. This makes Axis well-placed, in every sense, to tender and contribute to new build, refurbishment, and maintenance projects within NHS properties, across the UK.

The Flo-Motion® door system was first conceived, designed and developed in-house, for the new, state-of-the-art, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, which opened in 2015.

Flo-Motion® manual sliding doors feature recirculating ball guides on a special low resistance linear track system with damper mechanism at the fully opened and closed positions. The high number of balls used ensure continuous contact with bearing surfaces, as well as the contained roller, which increases the slide load rate capability and decreases the movement force for easy and safe operation with minimal effort, using fingertip control. The Flo-Motion® door has been tested to over one million cycles (test stopped at 1.36 million cycles = 3.26million metres).

Other benefits of this range of telescopic, single and double door sets, include space-saving with the slim-line stiles, and a wealth of options for the designer, like full-width, fully glazed panels with interstitial blinds, and the wide scope of finishes, fixings and handles. Once installed, the doors are digitally force tested and a certificate is issued showing the mean average opening and closing force with test data in graph format.

Further enhancing the designer’s work, Axis offers a suite of online tools and resources through its website, including clear opening calculators, specifications, CAD drawings, and BIM models.
