EQUITONE is a through-coloured facade material designed by and for architects.
Our company has produced facade panels since the 1950´s. Every EQUITONE panel is unique, showing the raw, untreated texture of the fibre cement base material. Fibre cement is a cement composite material that consists of cement, cellulose and mineral materials, reinforced by a visible matrix. Nothing else.
Certifiably Sustainable:
EQUITONE has achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified® at the Bronze level for all fibre cement materials. Recognized as a preferred product sustainability standard throughout the building industry, this certification allows architects to know immediately that a material meets some of the world’s most rigorous performance standards for humans and for the environment.
MATERIALS:
EQUITONE [tectiva]
EQUITONE [tectiva] is a through-coloured facade material, characterised by a sanded surface and naturally occurring hues within the material. Every [tectiva] panel is unique, strongly expressing the raw texture of the core fibre cement material.
EQUITONE [natura]
EQUITONE [natura] is a through-coloured facade material. Every EQUITONE [natura] panel is unique, subtly displaying the raw texture of the core fibre cement material.
EQUITONE [linea]
EQUITONE [linea] is a unique 3D shaped, through-coloured facade material that plays with light and shadow.
EQUITONE [pictura]
EQUITONE [pictura] is an eternit fibre cement facade material with ultra matt architectural finish. Thousands of custom-matched matt project colours are available on request.
EQUITONE [lunara]
EQUITONE [lunara] is a through coloured panel. The surface of the panel is characterised by a randomised textured finish that is unique to EQUITONE [lunara]. The two colour shades accentuate the authenticity of the material. The panel receives a hydrophobation that makes the panel water repellent.

EQUITONE is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze
The architectural community drives sustainable construction
How construction products are designed and selected today shapes the world we will inhabit tomorrow. That is why we joined the movement that is rethinking, redesigning, and transforming the system one sustainable facade at a time. Cradle to Cradle Certified® provides architects with fact-based, at-a-glance assurance that EQUITONE’s facade materials meet some of the world’s most rigorous sustainability standards.
What is Cradle to Cradle Certified®?
The Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Standard is the leading multi-attribute standard used globally for designing and making products that enable a healthy, equitable, and sustainable future. It is widely regarded throughout the building industry as the preferred sustainability standard.
How Cradle to Cradle Certified® is awarded
Certification is awarded based upon independent assessment of a product or material according to five critical categories of sustainability performance:
Material Health
Product Circularity
Clean Air & Carbon
Water & Soil Stewardship
Social Fairness
Sustainability is a journey not a destination. Bronze is just the beginning…
At EQUITONE, we’re leading the way in contributing to the sustainability goals of the construction industry. Achieving Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze is an important milestone on our path to circularity, and our fibre cement materials are already earning performance ratings of Silver for Material Reutilization and Social Fairness. We are working hard to accelerate advancements in the carbon, water, and energy footprint of our operations.
Cradle to Cradle Certified® is a registered trademark of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.
EPDs (Environmental Product Declaration) are essential to sustainable building design
Why is an EPD powerful when choosing a material in your facade design?
More than ever, environmental impacts are a worldwide concern. It doesn’t limit to specific sectors as oil extraction or car manufacturer. The building market has a great role to play in this transition to a more sustainable world. You, as architects and specifiers have a great role to assume by being sure that your projects will generate fewer negative impacts on the environment. It is your responsibility to make energy efficient buildings. EQUITONE always recommends specifiers ask for EPDs when selecting materials.
