District Heating
District heating (heat networks) is the concept of one large centralised boiler instead of individual boilers. Heat is then transported via pre-insulated district heating pipes into each building. REHAU offer 2 pre-insulated pipes:
RAUVITHERM is the only PE-Xa district heating pipe manufactured in the UK which saves an estimated 29% on CO² emissions. Ideal for district heating, biomass, biogas and heat pump applications. Available in UNO 25-125mm and DUO 25-63mm.
RAUTHERMEX offers huge advantages over traditional steel pipework due to the speed and ease of installation. The high performance PU foam makes it ideal for large district heating over long distances where heat losses are critical. Available in UNO 25-160mm and DUO 20-75mm.

RAUTITAN plumbing system is a universal system for drinking water and heating, RAUTITAN is the first choice for modern installations and consists of pipe, fitting and a compression sleeve that creates a permanently sealed joint. REHAU gives water quality the highest priority and for that reason, launched the lead-free gunmetal (RX+) fitting, to far exceed drinking water regulations. Coupled with a tried and tested joint used over 850,000,000 times worldwide.

Sub-surface Heating & Cooling
REHAU offer a number of solutions for sub-surface heating and cooling, from domestic systems to industrial and commercial solutions. Our offering for the commercial market includes our Chilled ceiling and TABS (Thermally Activated Building Structures) solution for buildings.
Heating & Plumbing
REHAU offers RAUTITAN, comprising Flex and Stabil polymer pipes, a new universal 10 bar pipework solution designed specifically for drinking water and heating systems. The flexible PE-Xa RAUTITAN pipework system delivers on durability, corrosion resistance and ease of installation, and is available in both coils and straights, and also as a pre-insulated pipe system, offering installers a solution for virtually every application. The Flex range, a five layer polymer pipe, is available from 16-63mm and the multilayer Stabil pipe range is available from 16-40mm.
REHAU has recently launched a new acoustic drainage pipe to the portfolio – RAUPIANO. RAUPIANO Plus pipes feature a unique multi-layer composition which reduces noise without the need for additional pipe lagging (17dB sound level). The pipe’s inner layer is made of polypropylene (PP) and is designed to be abrasion resistant and low friction to reduce blockages and extend life span; the middle layer is made of mineral-reinforced PP for sound absorption and stability; and the outer PP layer is impact resistant, shockproof and UV/weather resistant.

Transparent and independent sustainability communication is becoming increasingly important for customers and suppliers. Sustainability ratings play a key role here, as they provide reliable guidance and are therefore eagerly awaited every year. The latest EcoVadis rating has now been published.
REHAU Group was once again able to improve and secure Gold certification, for the third time in a row. Putting them in the top 5 percent of all participating companies and the top 1 percent in the plastic goods sector.
"We are very proud of this result, because it shows that we are taking the right measures and are constantly improving," says Andreas Jenne, Head of Sustainability at REHAU Industries. "However, the rating also reveals the areas in which we still have room for improvement, such as sustainable procurement. We can now make targeted improvements there."
This result reiterates the findings of the non-profit initiative CDP, where REHAU secured the top rating of B and are thus above the average of C for the “plastics manufacturing” industry.
About EcoVadis
The independent rating agency EcoVadis has been evaluating the sustainability performance of companies in the categories of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement since 2007. The methodology is based on international sustainability standards such as the Global Compact principles, the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard, the ISO 26000 standard and the CERES principles. With a total of 21 sustainability criteria and weighting based on seven management indicators, it makes the activities of companies with international supply chains measurable and comparable. The holistic EcoVadis ratings show the commitment to sustainability and create trust and transparency for business partners.
REHAU expands Clip-Flex range
REHAU has expanded its Clip-Flex range with a more compact option which is better suited for duo pipes and house connections.

The 90-150mm heating shroud has all the same benefits as the larger 90-250mm version including up to 22.5° range of motion in all directions which allows contractors a high level of flexibility on site.
As a key part of any district heating network, Clip-Flex was launched by REHAU last year after working with all parts of the industry including designers and contractors to create a shroud that could be relied on. It also facilitates easier installation, optimises heat network performance, and has the potential to deliver cost savings in materials.
The shrouds are compatible with all REHAU PE-Xa district heating pipes from 25mm to 160mm, which means it covers all RAUVITHERM and RAUTHERMEX sizes.
Clip-Flex requires 30% less transport and storage volume, while offering up to 20% more room for fittings and installation, allowing a range of fittings to be used, including REHAU’s own FUSAPEX and modular tees. Using FUSAPEX can offer cost savings and improved lead times by using standard shrouds and fittings instead of custom pre-insulated tees.
The UK District Energy Association highly commended the Clip-Flex shroud in their Heat Network Innovation of the Year category in 2023. The judges particularly liked that the shroud could be used by a deskilled workforce as well as improving health and safety by not requiring hot works to heat shrink the shroud.
