Batt Cables Joins the Armed Forces Covenant
July 2025

At Batt Cables, we are proud to announce our pledge to the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC), a commitment that reflects our recognition of the immense value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families bring to our business and our country.
Why the Armed Forces Covenant Matters

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation to ensure that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly and not disadvantaged due to their service. By signing this pledge, Batt Cables joins a growing community of over 11,000 organisations across the UK, united in their support for the Armed Forces community.

For us, this is more than a symbolic gesture, it’s a commitment to action, inclusion, and making a tangible difference.
Our Commitments to the Armed Forces Community

At Batt Cables, we are dedicated to upholding the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant through the following commitments:

Recruitment & Employment: We are committed to considering veterans and reservists for all suitable vacancies, recognising their transferable skills and experience. Our recruitment and selection processes will be inclusive and supportive of those from the Armed Forces community.
Workplace Flexibility: We will offer flexible working arrangements where possible for Service spouses and partners, particularly around deployment periods, and for employees with Reserve commitments or responsibilities within cadet organisations.
Training & Development: Employees returning from service or mobilisations will receive appropriate reintegration support and training to help them transition back to work smoothly and confidently.
Recognition & Awareness: We will raise awareness among our staff about the Armed Forces Covenant and the contributions of the Armed Forces community. This includes internal communications, displays, and participation in events such as Armed Forces Day and Remembrance Day.
Support for Reservists: Additional unpaid leave will be provided to employees who serve as Reservists to attend annual training and deployments. We will also support them during periods of mobilisation.
Community Engagement: We will explore opportunities to partner with local Armed Forces organisations, cadet units, or charities, and support staff who wish to volunteer or fundraise for Armed Forces-related causes.

Why This Matters to Batt Cables

We believe that the Armed Forces community brings unique skills, discipline, and values that align perfectly with our mission and culture. By supporting this community, we not only give back to those who have served but also enrich our organisation with their expertise and dedication.
