Hydron Protective Coatings Fire Retardant Paint Systems

Nu-Flame is a range of fire-retardant paint systems developed by Hydron to give fire protection to several different substrates.

The Nu-Flame fire upgrade paint system has been developed for the over coating of multi layered paints for communal areas such as stairwells, corridors and lift lobbies without the need to strip the current paint.

Removing the existing paint system is expensive, time consuming and can be a health hazard when working in a confined space such as a corridor. The Nu-Flame fire retardant paint system reduces the need for chemical stripping of the walls. Nu-Flame is a water based system which presents no health hazards and reduced odours during the application.

The advantage of using Hydron’s flame resistant paint system is the fact that site specific specifications can be produced in order to create a suitable tailor made recommendation to the client and customer in order to satisfy their requirements. This has been achieved with the production of a wide range of fireproof paint finishes available and tested to upgrade painted surfaces to class ‘0’ as required by building regulations BS476 Parts 6 and 7.

The range includes:

Fire resistant paint for walls and ceilings in communal areas where an upgrade to Class 0 surface spread of flame is required
Intumescent paint to steelwork to give fire protection on the structural steel
Flameproof paint for wood and timber surfaces which is available in clear or pigmented decorative finishes.
