Thermally efficient EB20 steel windows chosen for beautiful country house.
This wonderful family home lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Surrey. It was originally built in the 1930’s but has since been extended. Unusually the house features two very different styles; the front has twin gables, half tiled with brick underneath and the rear is in the Tudor style, with white rendering and exposed timbers.
Clement EB20 steel windows were specified for both elevations but with different glazing to suit the two looks. Rectangular leaded lights were selected for the front and clear glazing for the back. The EB20 range was chosen due to its close match to the original windows but also because it is very thermally efficient. The windows for this project achieve a ‘B’ Window Energy Rating (WER).
Interior steel doors have also been installed within the house and these create a fantastic interior feature, as well as allow plenty of light to flood the rooms. These were manufactured from Clement W20 steel sections with G+ bars.
A variety of accessories were chosen to complement the new steel windows and doors, including ‘Chelsea’ handles and matching peg stays.
The owner of the property said: “We replaced all of our existing windows with Clement double glazed units and added two internal doors in the same style. The result is excellent and we found the company to be professional at every level and a pleasure to work with.”
