Clement is delighted to have sponsored the Small Project of the Year (up to £5m) for the fifth year running at this year’s Building Awards and congratulate the winners, John McAslan & Partners, who won for their project, Clore Music Studios.
Set within Oxford’s central Conservation Area, New College’s Clore Music Studios is a contemporary stone-clad building that provides a range of high quality spaces for music, opera and drama. The building sits on a site just 7.5m wide and with the remains of defensive earth ramparts from the English Civil War to the rear. Glazing to front and back provides views through to the ramparts, illuminating historic context while providing active frontage to the street.
The 2020 Building Awards was a very different event to previous years due to COVID-19. Held virtually and positioned as Building Awards 2020: The Movie, it told the story of 2020, celebrating the best of the UK’s construction industry this year and championing a star studded cast from an industry Proud To Help. You can view the movie here. https://building-awards.com/
Building Magazine launched its Proud To Help campaign earlier this year to highlight the work being undertaken by the construction industry to support the UK’s public services, critical works and supply chains and to set the country back on the road to recovery following the coronavirus crisis.
