Probyn Court Sheltered living accommodation in Stoke-on-Trent
June 2020

Project Details
Sheltered housing is a form of accommodation for the vulnerable/elderly, allowing them to live independently with support from a carer. It typically comes in the form of separate, self-contained flats/apartments with a communal garden/courtyard. All flats are fitted with alarms that will call directly to an on-call carer who will provide assistance in an emergency.

Probyn Court is a sheltered housing site located in Stoke-on-Trent. As a gated community, it is vital that access to the premises is controlled to prevent unauthorised access. However, the previously installed timber doors were rotten and constantly needed repairing. So the facilities managers requested a more durable replacement to ensure residents felt safe and secure.

We designed and manufactured multiple OUTA-DOR‘s for this site as a robust alternative to the timber doors. Finished in a modern Jet Black (RAL 9005) Polyester Powder Coating with Chevron pattern, they come with up to 10 years corrosion warranty. We also fitted access control with an intercom, allowing residents to allow guests access to the site remotely from their homes.
