Just at the edge of Somerton in Somerset you will find The Long House, a 350 sq m concrete frame, new build house designed by Neil Choudhury Architects.
Clement bespoke steel windows and doors were chosen for their beautifully slim frames, in keeping with the design of the building. All the new fenestration was coated with Signal Black polyester powder paint in a matt finish which perfectly complements the blue lias stone walls, charred timber cladding and dark grey zinc roof.
The Clement EB24 steel window and door range, featuring 23.2 mm krypton filled double glazed units was used externally to comply with British security standard PAS 24. Internally, Clement W20 single glazed doors and screens with 6.4mm laminated units were specified to separate the rooms.
Neil Choudhury from NCA said: “This new build project was a reinterpretation of a Somerset long house and the aim was to strike a careful balance overall between traditional, local and contemporary materials. The black steel windows and doors by Clement lend themselves perfectly to the look which is at once modern and classic. The Clement team worked closely with us throughout the project to ensure our original brief was met, we are really pleased with the end result.”
