UZIN donates products to help with extension at Lincolnshire Community Health Service
December 2019

UZIN donated subfloor preparation products to help with the extension at Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS). The new extension contains new care facilities, so it was vital that the new vinyl safety floor remains robust and sturdy for the future.

UZIN worked alongside J Kerr Floors LTD and the hospital to provide a suitable specification for the new vinyl safety flooring which covered approximately 200 square metres within the new extension. A complete system of UZIN products were donated to J Kerr Floors LTD so the new floor could be installed. Firstly UZIN PE 480 damp proof membrane was applied to protect the floor from moisture within the substrate. This was followed by a coat of UZIN PE 280 rapid drying primer and UZIN NC 196 fibre reinforced smoothing compound to create a smooth and flat surface. Finally UZIN KE 2428 multi-purpose adhesive was used to install the new vinyl safety flooring.

The new facility has enabled Skegness and District General Hospital to enhance the quality and safety of patient treatment. The new vinyl safety flooring is very durable, which helps endure the substantial footfall and hospital traffic. Angela Wilson, Matron for community hospitals at Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, said: “This new palliative care suite at Skegness Hospital will allow us to enhance the care we offer to our patients and we are extremely grateful to UZIN for supplying the flooring products.”
