Junckers is supplying its A3 Portable Sports Flooring for the Pan American & Parapan American Games in Lima 2019. A total pf 2800m2 Junckers’ 22mm solid hardwood flooring complete with a fully sprung area elastic sub-construction will be installed on two basketball courts, one wheelchair basketball court and one wheelchair rugby court.
Working with installation partner Recoma of Brazil, Junckers’ Technical Team will be on site when the floors and subfloors will be installed during a 12-hour period between 7pm and 7am. The floors will be taken up and moved twice during the Games, first for the Pan American Games, which take place between 26 July and 11 August and again for the Parapan American Games 23 August – 1 September. Each time, the floors will be installed complete with line markings and customised with the Games’ logos.
Junckers A3 Portable Sports Floor made in solid beech offers a professional, flexible option for a wide variety of sporting events. The flooring system fully conforms to EN 14904 standard with good shock absorption and ball bounce and is the ideal solution when a low construction height is required. Used for Wheelchair Basketball and Rugby, both high speed and incredibly skilled games, any floor will be tested to its limits. A strong and durable floor is essential. Having previously been used at the 2015 Wheelchair Rugby World Championships as well as the 2014 Invictus Games both held in London, Junckers’ portable sports flooring system has proved the optimal solution.
Once the ergonomic pre-assembled panels of 22mm Junckers solid hardwood boards are placed in position, they are held securely in place with secure fittings which are easy to release when the system is disassembled. A portable, professional grade sports floor from Junckers offers a sustainable option as it can be used again and again; an ideal choice as many of the large arenas used for big sporting events are temporary structures.
After the Olympic Games, the Pan and Parapan American Games is the second largest sporting event in the world. Over 8,000 athletes from 41 countries compete in 39 sports.
