Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E leaves other conventional systems out in the cold as the perfect all-in-one integrated solution for use under tiles and natural stone flooring.

Ideal for refurbishment and renovation projects thanks to its uncoupling and crack-bridging properties, Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E is unlike anything else available due to its loose heating cables which are fixed down to the uncoupling mat free of tape as a result of its unique studded design. Offering optimum freedom for creating concentrated heating zones, as well as providing uniform spacing without the need for measuring and marking, the new system will dramatically cut installation time by up to 70%.

Schlüter®-DITRA-HEAT-E is now also available in complete box sets to accommodate all common UK room sizes such as bathrooms and kitchens. SCHLUTER-BEKOTEC-THERM HYDRONIC UNDERFLOOR HEATING

Its components may be orange in colour but Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM is definitely green by nature thanks to the distinctive environmental benefits this perfect underfloor heating system possesses.

The unique design of this advanced system from Schlüter-Systems requires a 30% thinner screed, which helps distribute heat faster and with evenness. This is because the thin patented structure of the ceramic thermal floor allows it to respond to temperature changes that much quicker thanks to the connected air channels within the Schlüter®-DITRA membrane. This in turn uses less energy, making Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM more efficient than other traditional underfloor heating systems. Its low supply temperature of approximately 30°C, compared to the more conventional 50°C or the 70-90°C in some radiator systems, means Schlüter®-BEKOTEC-THERM is extremely effective both with conventional heat generation methods and regenerative energy sources such as heat pumps or solar panels. One Step Closer to the Sweet Sound of Silence
Schlüter-Systems is delighted to report the pleasing results of impact sound reduction tests on its latest innovative uncoupling membrane for crack-free tile and stone.
Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-TB will henceforth be known as Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-DUO, in recognition of the fact that the matting now offers two officially-verified features over its parent product DITRA-HEAT: thermal breaking and impact sound reduction. The newly-confirmed impact sound reduction of up to 13dB is perceived as a 50% reduction by the human ear.

This new development brings the tally of features offered by this product to seven in total—which together aid the construction process, protect the fabric of the building and improve privacy for occupants. DITRA-HEAT-DUO is a universal substrate for tile and stone coverings; as well as providing thermal breaking and impact sound reduction, it serves as a bonded waterproofing, uncoupling, crack bridging and vapour pressure equalisation layer.
The matting is also designed for the secure attachment of heating cables as an integral part of the no-nonsense electrical underfloor heating system, Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-E. In terms of thermal break credentials, DITRA-HEAT-DUO pushes 80% of its input to the surface during the heat-up phase, whereas alternative systems can lose up to half of the heat into the screed or subfloor.

DITRA-HEAT-DUO consists of a polypropylene membrane with a cut back stud structure, with a unique 2mm anchoring fleece laminated on the underside. It can be installed on floors or walls as part of a complete DITRA-HEAT-E system, for ultimate flexibility.

Schlüter-Systems chosen for Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Facility

Schlüter-Systems have been selected to maintain and control floor movement in a £60million, state-of-the-art purpose built research, design, development and manufacturing facility for Aero Engine Controls (AEC) part of the Rolls Royce Group.

Aero Engine Controls (AEC), provides a single solution for the design, manufacture, procurement, testing and support of high-integrity, harsh environment control systems. The new 28,000 sqm facility, in Solihull, Birmingham replaces their two existing AEC sites to produce engine control systems for a range of applications, including Rolls Royce engines.

Schlüter-Systems has been the market leader in essential accessories for tile and stone since it was founded in 1966. Consultants are always on hand to assist with specification projects from conception right through to installation along with a first-rate technical support team to help with the design process including NBS specifications, CAD and BIM support together with on-site support for architect, contractor and main installer.

Schlüter-Systems Ltd were specified at the design stage by CPMG Architects, an AJ100 practice, and worked closely with contractors BAM Construction Ltd and Birmingham Tile & Mosaic Co. to supply their market leading products which included, Schlüter®-DILEX-AKWS movement joints and Schlüter®-DITRA-25 matting and to also deliver technical advice when needed.

Industry standards state that all tile and stone installations should include the use of movement joints. The question, however, is how do you provide the movement joints necessary to ensure a durable installation and what movement joints should you use?

Movement joints need to follow from the screed to the tile and stone covering and therefore need to be designed into the specification. Understanding the types of movement that can occur, namely drying shrinkage, differential movement, deflection movement, structural movement, moisture movement and thermal movement, will help when deciding which type of movement joint will best control the resulting stresses.

Pre-formed movement or control joints, such as Schlüter®-DILEX can accommodate roughly 15-20% of their movement zone. The extensive Schlüter®-DILEX range of movement joints offer complete protection and are available to specifiers in a wide selection of materials, colours, and movement capability.

Schlüter®-DITRA 25 is the unsurpassed uncoupling membrane for tile and natural stone installations. The geometry of the membrane allows for the absorption of lateral movement in each direction.
