Masonry Support Systems
Masonry cladding on steel or concrete framed structures is normally supported by stainless steel masonry support systems. Frame type, differential movement, type of cladding, masonry load and cavity width all need to be considered when selecting the most appropriate fixing solution.
Windposts & Parapet Posts
Ancon Windposts are designed to span vertically between floors to provide lateral support for panels of brickwork. They are designed to suit specific applications and are supplied complete with end connections and ties.
Ancon AMR is steel reinforcement that locates in a bed joint to strengthen masonry panels. The longitudinal wires are flattened to less than 3mm to ensure good mortar cover is maintained, even when the product is lapped or used in the same joint as a wall tie. AMR improves the structural performance of a wall by providing additional resistance to lateral load.
Stainless Steel Lintels
Ancon Lintels are manufactured from stainless steel and do not require any further corrosion protection.The standard range of Ancon Lintels is designed to suit the majority of loading conditions found in residential and commercial buildings. Special lintels can be manufactured to suit architectural features, heavy duty applications and wall constructions not covered by the standard range.
Stainless Steel Wall Ties & Restraint Fixings
Stainless Steel Wall ties and restraint fixings are an essential element in the stability of masonry panels. Ancon manufactures fixings in a variety of lengths and types for restraining brickwork, blockwork and stonework. The Staifix range of wall ties includes solutions for all types of masonry construction including traditional brick-to-block, thin-joint blockwork and timber frames.
Tie bars are increasingly being used in structures and buildings as an architectural as well as a structural element. Ancon Tension Systems have been designed to meet the demanding aesthetic requirements of today’s applications. A high load tension system is available - the Ancon 500 System.
Ancon Isolan connectors join external concrete balconies to internal concrete floor slabs. Used to minimise cold bridging, these connectors provide continuity to the thermal insulation in the wall. Standard systems, comprising rigid CFC-free polystyrene insulation and stainless steel shear reinforcement, suit most depths of cantilever and simply supported balconies.

Ancon further extends its insulated balcony connector portfolio
ANCON has extended its STC steel-to-concrete balcony connector range with two new high performance products and a standard series of connectors manufactured from stainless steel.
Ancon STC connectors anchor an external steel balcony to an internal concrete floor slab while minimising heat loss through thermal bridging at the interface.
Two sizes have been added to the STC balcony connector range to provide a higher resistance to both moment and shear forces. Typical applications for these high performance products include large cantilever balconies and situations where column layout or rebar congestion limits the number of connectors that can be installed.
This range extension comes just weeks after Ancon’s launch of its new stainless steel SSTC series at Ecobuild 2016.
STC balcony connection brackets are manufactured in galvanised steel as standard but are now also available in stainless steel, referenced SSTC; ideal for applications where maximum thermal efficiency and corrosion resistance is required.
Comprising a two-part assembly, the STC and SSTC systems allow phased installation. One component is cast in to the slab edge with the second component installed only when required, avoiding damage by other trades as construction progresses.
Manufactured to order, the depth of the fabricated steel bracket component is variable, allowing brackets to be designed to avoid conflict with cladding to simplify installation. Serrated slots in Ancon’s CE-marked steel brackets provide quick and easy adjustability on site, without stop butts or levelling shims.
Featuring an integral high-tech thermal pad, these Ancon connectors are proven through thermal modelling to help prevent condensation and mould growth in buildings.

Introducing the New Bond
Acting on intelligence out in the field, undercover fixing specialist Ancon has launched a new super-Bond, ultra-low thermal conductivity wall tie that even SPECTRE would find hard to crack!
Based on the company’s multi-award winning TeploTie with a conductivity of 00.7W/mK which virtually eliminates heat loss through thermal bridging in cavity wall construction, the new Teplo-BF basalt fibre wall tie features specially moulded safety ends that improve buildability and enhance mortar bond strength by up to 80%.
The new user-friendly design has exceptional mortar grabbing capability, making Teplo-BF particularly suitable for use with lime and other slow-drying mortars.
The Teplo-BF, like the original TeploTie which was introduced into the UK and Ireland by Ancon in 2010 and since used on a number of ground-breaking PassivHaus and Zero-Carbon buildings, is created by the setting of innovative pultruded basalt fibres in a resin matrix. This composite material provides a combination of high strength and outstanding thermal efficiency.
The ultra-low thermal conductivity, twenty times below that of stainless steel, means that Teplo-BF ties are excluded from U-value calculations to BS EN ISO 6946, helping to minimise insulation and wall thickness, a particular benefit in modern low-energy construction applications.
Available in the same wide range of lengths and types as the original TeploTie, the new Teplo-BF wall tie is suitable for cavities up to 450mm wide and buildings up to 18 metres in height, and carry BBA and NHBC technical approvals.
