BLÜCHER on track with Birmingham New Street Railway Station
Around the same time that BLÜCHER was founded in Denmark, the growing city of Birmingham was beginning to benefit from the west coast main line railway programme, which included the demolition of the old New Street station to make way for a new station that would be completed by 1967.
By 2003 this same train station would be voted in a poll as the 2nd biggest "eye sore" in the UK, due to its subsurface and outdated 1960's architecture. Ten years later, the plans began to transform the station into a sustainable 21st century redevelopment that the people of Birmingham could be proud of!
Sustainability is at the heart of BLÜCHER who fully recognises its responsibility towards the environment. BLÜCHER was an obvious choice for Birmingham's Gateway New Street project, which opens in 2015, the year in which BLÜCHER celebrate its 50 years anniversary.
