HOWARTH TIMBER TAKEOVER LIGHTS UP ELLAND ROAD

March 2015

Howarth Timber and Building Supplies is celebrating after a hugely successful event takeover at Leeds United’s home game against Nottingham Forest.

The takeover forms part of the company’s 175th anniversary activities throughout 2015 and saw more than 1000 Howarth Timber staff, suppliers, customers and competition winners enjoy a day out at Elland Road.

That number helped Leeds United enjoy its biggest attendance of the season, as more than 30,000 people were exposed to Howarth Timber branding throughout the stadium, programme and even on the tops of the half-time cheerleaders.

Children of Howarth Timber staff, customers and local football teams also played an important role in the day. They were handed full Leeds United kits by club legend Peter Lorimer before parading a giant Howarth Timber flag on the centre spot during half-time.

Neale Brewster, marketing and product development manager at Howarth Timber, said: “The event takeover was a huge success for Howarth Timber, giving us a unique opportunity to communicate our 175th anniversary to more than 30,000 people as well as a way to thank everyone who has helped us reach this milestone. The takeover generated plenty of talk on social media and it’s fair to say that everyone in the ground left knowing a little bit more about Howarth Timber!”

Stuart Dodsley, head of commercial for Leeds United, added: “The match, our highest attended league game this season, was dominated by the Howarth Timber brand and it was an occasion fitting to celebrate its 175th year. Happy birthday to Howarth Timber and we hope they enjoy another hugely successful 175 years!”

Howarth Timber has a whole host of events lined up for the remainder of the year to celebrate its anniversary. More details can be found here: www.175years.co.uk
