STYLE DELIVERS SHOWPIECE MOVEABLE WALL
The new London offices of international law firm, Goodwin, deliver inherent flexibility thanks to a combination of sophisticated moveable wall systems designed and installed by experts, Style. Adding aesthetic impact to a prestigious reception, a fully glazed DORMA Varitrans partitioning wall glides effortlessly into place at the press of a button, creating a comfortable seating area separated by a corridor between the bank of lifts. The conference suite benefits from two DORMA Moveo moveable walls which combine to divide the open plan space into different sized meeting rooms. With exceptional 55dB acoustics, privacy between the rooms is assured.
Goodwin is a Global 50 law firm with a history of working on ground-breaking matters, working with clients in the financial, private equity, real estate, technology and life sciences industries. The firm recently relocated to the state-of-the-art space at 100 Cheapside, EC2, more than doubling the size of its previous London offices. The expanded facility will house the firm’s 75-plus London-based lawyers and over 30 professional staff.
Working closely with WATG architects and contractor, Overbury, Style created flexible meeting spaces in both the reception area and the open-plan conference room, which can be divided into either three meeting rooms, or one very large room and a smaller one
“Goodwin is an excellent example of how different operable wall systems can be used to great effect in the same building,” said Style’s group managing director, Julian Sargent.
“The fully automatic glazed system is a stunning addition to this beautifully designed, and very chic, reception area and the flexibility it offers to divide the space quickly is incredible.
“In the conference room the acoustics were critical and, thanks to the great performance of the Moveo system coupled with the skill of our installation teams, client meetings take place undisturbed in a room that can be reconfigured quickly for different events.”
