The suite of sections available in steel are the SMW, W20 and W40 window & door systems. Our unique presence in the aluminium industry means that we are able to fabricate from several reputable aluminium window systems and thereby offer end users a variety of window systems that will satisfy individual needs from conventional ’hole in the wall’ to curtain walling systems up to two stories high.
In providing a total window/door package our specialist knowledge in the industry has lead us to develop both steel & aluminium windows that automatically open when smoke is detected. The design of the automatic opening ventilators (A.O.V’s) compliments the design of the conventional windows we manufacture. These A.O.V’s can also be installed to provide cross ventilation of corridors, lift lobbies and stair lobbies to overcome the shortcomings of permanent ventilation.

Many steel windows fitted into school buildings are now causing problems as a result of poor maintenance which has lead to distorted opening casements letting in water, draughts and noise.
With experience gained since the nineteen forties West Leigh have developed a range of solutions to overcome these problems. Many faults on older steel window frames are due to lack of maintenance, therefore if your windows are sound but just gummed up with dirt and paint they can be serviced and overhauled. Aluminium and PVCu windows can benefit from new fittings, weather stripping, lubrication and cleaning.
However some steel window frames may be distorted and damaged beyond repair. These were manufactured prior to galvanising and powder coating techniques which preserves today’s modern product. It is in most instances possible to replicate the original designs having the additional benefits of galvanising, weatherstripping, polyester powder coating and/or double glazing.
The wide and varied experience with all facets of TOTAL WINDOW CARE means that West Leigh can offer a unique unbiased ‘Technical Advisory Service’. Where replacement is considered necessary, West Leigh can provide a full range of steel and aluminium windows. All chosen products meet the necessary design and performance criteria. In addition, West Leigh can act as the Main Contractor responsible for all site services operating under the CDM Regulations.
