HEYDI TANKING SYSTEM.
Ideal for positive and negative waterproofing against dampness and ground water, as well as hydrostatic pressure for buildings and structures of all kinds, i.e. cellars, Basement tanking, underground garages, pre-stressed and precast concrete units, swimming pools and drinking water tanks. Also as a damp-proof course between foundation slab and rising masonry and for all sound mineral surfaces. The Sovereign Hey’di tanking system can be applied direct to the substrate. The treatment can be applied to both walls and floors. Both Heydi K11 and Hey’di special systems have been proved highly effective against extreme water pressures throughout the world.
RADON BARRIERS.
Sovereign radon barrier coating is a ready for use specialist liquid applied membrane, the only such system that is BBA Approved as a radon barrier. It offers a simple continuous passive system to the full footprint of new builds producing basic radon protection and a waterproof membrane complying with requirement C2 and C4 of Schedule 1 of the Building Regulations 1991 for England and Wales. Our radon barrier also acts as a barrier to CO2, methane and water vapour.
SEALANTS & MASTICS.

New Product Launch - Sovereign Plasprime®
August 2010
One of the biggest challenges for plasterers is dealing with the multitude of backgrounds on to which plaster must be applied, particularly when re-skimming old, previously plastered walls. Using Sovereign Plasprime® negates the need to refit using dry lining systems or by removing existing plaster. Traditionally to overcome difficult backgrounds a plasterer would apply a coat of PVA adhesive and sealer or a bonding agent to the surface. The plaster must then be applied whilst the bonding coat is tacky, giving only a limited window of opportunity. Furthermore where different backgrounds are encountered the bonding coat will dry at different rates increasing the difficulties in application.
The final hurdle when using a bonding coat is that they are clear and so it is difficult to gauge that the whole surface has been prepared. Areas missed can result in the delamination and cracking of the subsequent coat of plaster.
Plasprime® eliminates all these problems by producing a phenomenal, lightly textured surface never before seen. The unique properties of Plasprime® also means that unlike other materials on the market it does not settle out during storage eliminating wastage and giving a consistent product throughout.
Augusta Westland Helicopters Trial Sovereign Meter
August 2009
The new Sovereign Quantum Marine Electronic Moisture Meter is proving to be a successful portable instrument, but not only for Marine Surveyors. It has now been successfully tested to detect moisture ingress within the rotor blades of a Sea King helicopter.
Rotor blade samples were forwarded to the Sovereign laboratories for test. Consisting of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) skin over high-density closed cell foam, 3ml of water was injected into three separately defined cells 30mm apart on the Sea King rotor sample. The cells were approximately 6mm from the edge of the yellow outer skin of the rotor blade.
After selecting the Deep mode facility on the Sovereign Moisture Meter, readings were quickly and easily taken from both sides of the blade and the moisture profiles were clearly identified. This test procedure was then forwarded to and confirmed by Engineers at Augusta Westland, who have now accepted the Sovereign Meter as the preferred non-destructive instrument at their Material Test Programme facility.
