Gradus Provides Wetherby Methodist Church with a Divine Flooring Solution


Wetherby Methodist Church is located in the centre of Wetherby town and is used by the local community for church services, activities and functions. In June 2011, the church completed a major refurbishment to its entrance area, main congregation area and staircases.

Gradus’ Genus carpet and Boulevard 6000 secondary barrier matting were installed in the newly refurbished church, helping to create a fresh and contemporary environment for visitors.
The main congregation area of the church was refurbished with Genus carpet in Ancient Ruby (red) which was chosen to complement the elegant and modern design of the interior. In the reception area, Genus carpet in Black Forest (grey) was installed to create a clean and welcoming environment.

In addition, Boulevard 6000 secondary barrier matting in Shadow (grey) was installed in the entrance area, helping to remove tracked in dirt and moisture. The performance benefits of Boulevard 6000 secondary barrier matting help to prolong the lifecycle of the surrounding carpet and help maintain the aesthetics of the building.

Gradus Installs Intelligent Step Lighting Solutions at The University of Manchester


The University of Manchester is Britain's largest single-site university, with a proud history of achievement and an ambitious agenda for the future.

Gradus’ RNT718L clear PVC-u stair edgings with Glacier (light grey) slip-resistant inserts and green Continuity LED lighting was installed in 16 of the University’s lecture theatres, in order to create a continuous linear lighting effect across each step that is clearly visible when ascending and descending the staircase.
The step lighting has been designed specifically to suit interior environments such as auditoria, where light is required for safety but should not detract from the primary function of the installation. In order to meet the latest guidelines on creating safe stairs, the stair edging inserts were chosen in a colour that provides a tonal contrast with the dark blue carpet so that the step edge is defined in normal conditions; whilst the lighting helps students and staff to safely navigate the lecture theatres in reduced light conditions.

In addition to safety, Gradus illuminated stair edgings have been used to complement the streamlined and modern design of the lecture theatres, replicating the design of the grey desks with green highlight detail onto the staircase for a co-ordinated appearance.
